Guess the Quote (from nearly anything)

21) from the new I Love The 90's promo on VH1?

22) describes the legendary Zaphod Beeblebrox by Eccentrica Galumbits, the triple-breasted whore of Eroticon Six (from my favorite book...ever)

23) from the first season of Futurama

Guess the Quote (from nearly anything)

Have you seen the teaser trailer yet? I'm looking forward to the movie, but I know it won't match the image I've had for it for over 20 years. But I'm a believer in letting the book be the book and the movie be the movie (and in the case of HHGTTG, letting the radio show be the radio show, the tv show be the tv show, etc.)

Hitchhiker's is my Lord Of The Rings, so I'm pretty eager to see what they do with it.

If you could recommend ONE lesser-known artist, it would be...

He wrote it for his then pal Dave Edmunds and ended up recording the song his own self.

I'll throw my hat in the ring with Robbie Fulks. Robbie is a country artist, though in an entirely different league altogether from anybody you'd hear on country radio these days. He has the sound of country music down, and he writes in a highly literate yet darkly humorous style. In short, he sounds like the offspring of Lefty Frizzell and Elvis Costello.

And he's here.

Look, I already get "spoky" and "stooky" confused, and this doesn't help.

20 Favorite Albums - 1998

You know, that's one album I haven't been able to get my hands on. I've never seen it at my local indie shop, and they keep a pretty cool selection. Of course I never remember it when I'm ordering something online.

Actually, since I'm thinking about it now, I'll go ahead and order it.

There, that was easy!

Imposter's Secret Santa '04 Mix

It was just a terrible tragedy. It's pretty sad that nothing's really been done about her death.

Listology Secret Santa 2004

Got mine today! I'm currently listening to an anonymous mix as I've been instructed to listen first before looking at the included track listing. And it's a good one. Also got another unnamed mix and Stook's What In Perdition?

And to whomever receives my mix, I hope you enjoy it/I apologize!

(My track listing will be up in a few days, btw.)

Nice coincidence, I watched Infernal Affairs this weekend, and really enjoyed it. Hope you get the time soon!

2004: Movies Seen

I had the benefit of watching both movies back to back, which probably helped put the second one that much higher. And it got me thinking about old acquaintances, and what they're up to now, and how we'd all get along nowadays....really, how can anything compete with that?

Will this be your first Eternal Sunshine viewing? Oh, to be able to see it again for the first time...
