"1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die"

Where is the official list of these new additions? I haven't found it at any bookstore, and it doesn't seem to show up on the "1001..." site.

Where to find films in the "1001 Movies to See Before You Die" that you can't find on Netflix:

"Greed" -- find it on youtube through openflix or piratebay
"A Tale of Winter" -- find it on piratebay
"Phantom Carriage" -- find it on youtube or piratebay
"Peking Opera Blues" -- find it on amazon
"The Horse Thief" -- find it on amazon
"The Housemaid" -- available free at MUBI.com.
"Red Sorghum" -- find it on piratebay

These are the titles that I have come across; I did not do a comprehensive list of the entire list. There are a bunch of other films that are not in circulation through Netflix, but which can easily be found on Amazon. Anybody who has titles to add can reply to this post.

Thanks for the advice guys, but I decided to just borrow the VHS from the library. My girlfriend has a working VCR, so I just watched it at her place. We should make a list of all the movies that are hard to find and tell people coming to this site how to get them. I'll post my own findings.

Does anyone know where I can find "The Baker's Wife?" It is only available on amazon in VHS format.

I was able to download "Conte De' Hiver," and it has english subtitles. Good thing these three titles are available on piratebay with seeders. I would rather have bought them, but it seems DVD distributors feel they can't make a profit off these titles, despite the fact that they're on this list and cinephiles like us are itching to watch them...

Thanks for the reply. I downloaded "The Phantom Carriage" on the site. Unfortunately, I found out it is available in its entirety, albeit segmented, on youtube. Luckily, I also found that "Greed" is available its restored 240 minute cut on youtube, so I can save myelf some hard drive space. I checked on ebay for "Conte d'hiver," but the dvd is only region 2. I found that the film was available for download on piratebay as well, but I'm not sure if it has english subtitles.

Thanks for putting this list up, especially with the updates from supplementary editions. I have made way to just over half of the movies in this list. Netflix instant watch, amazon, and my local library are all great assets. However, some of the titles are difficult to track down and don't even have DVD circulation in this country. Can anybody help me find the following titles:

Victor Sjostrom's "The Phantom Carriage"
Eric Rohmer's "A Heart in Winter"
Erich von Stroheim's "Greed"

I can't track down these films for home viewing. I'm not even sure if "Greed" has ever been released on DVD.
