BEST 1000 DANCE TRACKS [1984-2009]

All nice tracks d91...

I liked Ravers nature back in the day... made good hardcore tracks... I prefer the Original mix of the Viola track.... The Alibi track (AKA Tiesto & Armin) is a good one too.

Top 400 trance tracks of all time

DarkTremor... YOU ARE A MUPPET!!!!...

I initially thought that your list was ok, as you seemed to know about the Classic Trance tracks that I grew up with... and I previously added posts to assist you in making your list more solid... but it is now clear to me that you are nothing but a Generation-Y know-nothing, that tries to pass himself off as some genius in all matters... including trance music... Stop trying to make yourself out to be some trance expert... you weren't there when this stuff evolved, unlike me... Damn, you are only in your mid-20s, what the hell would you know...

I read your profile recently and it has to be the biggest load of ego-maniacal, self-absorbed crap I have ever read online....

Here's a link if others haven't read this spew...

http://www.listology.com/users/darktremor

Anyway, I won't bother posting on this list anymore, as its just flooded with noobie trance-lovers who really have little perspective to debate the artform seriously with someone who has been listening to it for over 20 years...

Socoban,

I think you need to get over your criticism of the fact Airbase isn't in the list... I don't mind some of his stuff (mainly his remixing of others tracks), but there is nothing amazing about his production, that would grant inclusion in this list.... BUT as I have said before, one third of this list isn't amazing.... so I guess you could add one more NON-AMAZING track by Airbase to this list, and continue it's tradition at being an average list.

The more concerning thing, is the fact that you have, in some way been "influenced" (as you say in your post) by darktremor... In that instance, I feel very sorry for you, as DarkTremor is a self-absorbed MUPPET... and if you don't believe me, read his Profile.... I have never read a bigger load of crap on any website in my entire long life.

Well Socoban, this is one instance when "opinions" don't come into an argument. The FACT is Fade's mix IS trance, and progressive trance to be more exact, but I'm not one for splitting up genres into subgenres... so the mix is trance... If you don't know whether a track is a trance track or not, then you shouldn't be making a comment about it... My argument stands, that Tiesto's mix doesn't deserve a rating, but Fade's should...

I just thik there is way too many people on this site that seems to think that Trance started at the turn of the millennium with Tiesto & Armin as the Gods who on the seventh day created Trance...

Electronic/Dance Music: The Essential Album Guide

Hey E-Z,

Just thought you might think about replacing Public Enemy's Fear of a Black Planet with It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back... as the latter was their record which revolutionized rap music...

Other ultra-important rap albums were De La Soul's 3 feet & rising (which you already have on the list).... Nas's Illmatic... Dr Dre's The Chronic.... BDP's Criminal Minded... NWA's Straight Outta Compton... Wu-Tang's 36 Chambers... and two by Run DMC, there self titled debut and their monster followup Raising Hell.

Not sure if you are including many rap albums in your list... and I'm not telling you to add those albums... just letting you know that they are the best rap albums ever made (IMO)....

BEST 1000 DANCE TRACKS [1984-2009]

No probs djjd21, I want people to suggest stuff.... I haven't heard everything... and already due to this list I have been alerted to a fair few great tracks that I either forgot about or had never heard...

However, I am really looking for "Classic" tracks... tracks that were quite popular among the music lovin' masses (but not overly cheesy commercial eurohouse tracks). Because this list is aimed at trying to get 1000 great tracks that would appeal to the masses... I'm not really interested in tracks that, were terrific tracks, but only appealed to a niche group.

Not bad tracks... nothing great in my opinion. I really like Katana's track, particularly the Signum mix... always liked signums sound

BEST 1000 DANCE TRACKS [1984-2009]

Hi djjd21,

I don't like to be too critical of contributors to my list, but unfortunately your suggestions aren't good on this occasion.

Captain Hollywood Project was a very bad eurohouse act of the same ilk of Labouche or Culture Beat.... Nothing annoys me more than those cheesy vocals & even worse raps in these types of tracks.

The Fire island track is a straight rip from CeCe Roger's Someday (in my top 100)

The 2 Funky 2 track is a straight rip from ASHA's JJ Tribute (again in my top 100)

The FKW track is by Paul Waterman of Stock, Aiken & Waterman fame.. (Eg Kylie, Mel & Kim, Rick Astley)... This is a pretty ordinary track (IMO)... had it on a compilation CD and I used to skip it every time.

The Finitribe is an average track (IMO) along with the Viper track

I can't consider the Blue Aeroplane tracks cos they fall outside my prerequisites. The only Indie Brit Rock Electronic track which will ever be on my list is Happy Monday's Wrote For Luck due to it's huge historical importance in the development of House music.

The only track I like, and was on the list at one stage was the Punchunella track... A pretty good song.

Sorry about the negativity

BEST 1000 DANCE TRACKS [1984-2009]

d91,

I decided to add both Ultravoilet tracks to the list for now.... (Kites & I Wish That)... I just love Maria Nayler's voice... Most people think Kites is the best, but I actually prefer the more ruffer sound of I Wish That...

the best of my dance music collection

Some decent tunes there..... the Iron Eden track is the best there, of the ones I don't have on my list (IMO)... love the track... it's awesome....

The Elephant Paw track is great (bit cheesy now), but I bought it as soon as I heard it back in the day.... but you may want to hear DJ D Lite's "Just Groovin'" as thats where the whistle sample came from as far as I remember...

PS - Boccaccio Life's Secret Wish is one of my fave trance tracks & Todd Terry's Something's Going On is one my fave Speed Garage tracks...

BEST 1000 DANCE TRACKS [1984-2009]

Thanks d91,

The Gift is already on the list... The Domination track is a very good harder edged track.... For What You Dream Of is a class track.... never really got into the Emerald track, but I haven't heard the Filterheadz Remix, so I will go and check it out.... never been much of a fan of Aphex Twin's stuff, even the highly popular Widowlicker gets on my nerves....

Thanks man
