I'm definitely sure he's in a dream at the end, and fairly certain he is for the entirety of the film, for reasons I'll expand on later if anyone cares.
Not sure if you've heard Fall Be Kind EP by Animal Collective, but for my money the best release of 2009 along with Varde. There's about three songs on there (I Think I Can, What Would I Want? Sky and On A Highway) that are all contenders for some of the best stuff recorded this decade.
I'm intruiged to see if you're going to love Inception as much as I did. IMO, the perfect blend of the psychologically charged work Nolan's done (Memento) and the visceral, blockbuster stuff (The Dark Knight) of his later career. Surprisingly emotionally affecting too, really an amazing cinematic experience.
I've always thought that role of poetry is more about exploring the subtle meaning of words; they entice us to explore beyond their surface because they are not presented in a conventional manner. That said, tone is very important in poetry, I just don't think that it is its principal purpose.

Have you seen Un Prophète? If so, thoughts?
No but it's too long for what it was trying to say; The Metamorphosis's length is appropriate to its content.
Also screenplay needs at least one Kaufman and Persona
Cinematography I think : Werckmeister Harmonies and 2046
That's good, if a bit too long.
