My Favorite Directors

Cronenberg is my favorite director, as well.

Thanks so much, Erin! I didn't realize this list was available to public view (I have a lot of guilty pleasures on here that I'm none too proud of owning...heh), as the old Listology had a privacy option. Anyway, thanks again. I can't wait to see what lists you'll put up.

My favorite movies, Top 1000

Oh, I agree. Especially since he's supposed to be working at the supermarket in the middle of the night! Christ, it's a freakshow in the DAYTIME, so... Besides, I also found it unrealistic that he'd see a naked girl at such a young age and be so enraptured by her. One of my sister's friends disrobed in front of me at about the same age and, although I remember it fondly now, it mostly just confused the hell out of me at the time.

Heh...I just saw Sean Ellis' "Cashback" a few weeks ago.

The Celluloid Madhouse

Ooh, wait! How about THE RESURRECTED? You can almost always count on H.P. Lovecraft films, much like IN THE MOUTH..., to begin and/or end in an asylum.

The Celluloid Madhouse

Another one you might want to add to your list would be IN DREAMS. I barely remember the film (perhaps that's a good thing), but I remember quite a bit of it taking place in an asylum.

Sea Monster Movies

Catch! Ha!

I think you'll enjoy LEVIATHAN. It's a total guilty pleasure. Imagine ALIEN meets THE THING meets THE ABYSS...only not as good as any of those. Just watch it...you'll be hooked. Get it? Hooked! *sigh*

The Celluloid Madhouse

IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS was directed by John Carpenter, not David Cronenberg.

Sea Monster Movies

Four things. 1) You listed PIRAHNA TWO twice. 2) DAGON was not a Sci-Fi Channel movie...it actually played in limited release before going to video. 3) Weren't there sea monsters in WATERWORLD? 4) How could you forget LEVIATHAN????

You've definitely inspired me to expand on my list. Thank you!

My Favorite Works by H.P. Lovecraft

"At the Mountains of Madness," easily. But I love "The Colour Out of Space" and "The Music of Erich Zann," as well. "Pickman's Model" is great, too.

My Favorite Works by Edgar Allan Poe (Stories)

"Amontillado" is right at the top of my favorites, as well. Easily of the Poe's best. I'll check out your list right away, but from what I've already seen, it's quite overwhelming. But very impressive, as well.

THEMES: Descent Into Madness

Or "Head Trauma"?

THEMES: Serial Killers In Film (Actual cases)

True, true, but...can you really say that "Time After Time" was about Jack the Ripper? :\
