Since you see a lot of shorts, maybe you'll recognize this... a few months ago, PBS was showing their Independent Lens online shorts one night, and I caught part of a film that I couldn't watch at the time, but I keep thinking about it. PBS doesn't have a list of what they show on their website. It's subtitled, but I don't recall getting a sense for what the language was. A man places a call from a phone booth to an operator, and they greet each other with Insha'allah -- I think I assumed it was set in Turkey, at the time. The call seemed to be about a video game, but I don't think it was. The mood was tense, and the operator made reference to people listening. And I think he's arrested at the end. Ring any bells? It's been driving me crazy!
It's not the same film -- I don't count them for that reason, plus it doesn't ever feel like a film-viewing-experience when it's broken up by commercials. And dubbing is a real pain.
wait-- second screenings during the year count as a separate film? I must have confused my own 365-film rules with the scoreboard. I'll definitely not keep up, then.
Thanks! Out of curiosity, do you have a script that catches changes in the lists, or do you update manually? I also remember seeing someone's list sorted in reverse (with highest number at the top) -- how do you do that??
Add me if you like. I'm at 287, if I drop out the television series (I count entire series on disc as one film). I don't count shorts, though I wish now that I'd at least put them on the list.
Wow, 1000 favorites? Impressive. Does this include shorts as well? I don't see any as I glance over the list, though. Thanks for your comments on my country-based list.

Well, it's taken pretty much verbatim from Francis' site -- it's not intended to be a dictionary. I did at least take out the exact reference. ; )

april 11's The Naked Gun + La Strada has to be the strangest double feature ever.
I used to live in Columbus, and miss my CD101. This list would be really helpful to someone moving there.
