Those are the only two McMurtry novels I have read.
Based on reviews, I don't think any of his others can quite compare, although I'm sure some are still probably good reading.
Nope. From Portland, OR, USA. Nice rainy weather here too. I actually haven't heard anything from the Buzzcocks or The Only Ones. Any particular songs/albums from these acts you'd recommend?
I saw the 1927 version of Metropolis years ago in the theater when it came out colorized and had
an 80's soundtrack. I loved it then and considered it one of my favorites. I haven't seen it again,
so it has fallen from my memory.
The 2001 Metropolis is just so beautiful to watch with the style of anime it presents.
I don't think there are too many similarities, other than both obviously being about futuristic
Metropolises.
Thanks professor for that info. I'll definitely have to check these groups out!
Added a couple groups that I had somehow forgotten. Blur, Pulp, and Nine Inch Nails.

I don't remember if parts were missing, although I think it was a short cut of the film.
Aside from the film, the music was great! :-) Freddy Mercury singing 'Love Kills', Bonnie Tyler singing 'Here She Comes'...
Guess I should check out the original again.
