What did you think of the Raekwon and Jigga albums?

The Rae joint impressed, it (obviously) wasn't up to par with his debut but I dug the grimy feel of it all. It could have down with more Ghost (who I love) but overall it's an album that increasingly becomes better.

The Blueprint 3 was surprisingly solid, the only tracks I'm not really feeling are Venus vs. Mars (despite some quotables) and Reminder. I really can't understand a lot of the hate being thrown at it. Empire State of Mind, Thank-You, Run this Town, Already Home, So Ambitious, et al are all really great. Even On to the Next One grew on me. Then again, I'm pretty biased when it comes to Jay-Z.

Actually, I pretty much feel the same way about both albums.

The Raekwon joint is definitely a worthy sequel to OB4CL and one of the best hip hop albums I've heard all year. My only gripe is that none of the amazing leaked tracks over the past few years that were supposed to be on the album ("State Of Grace", "My Corner", "Blue Eagles", "Baggage Handlers", etc.) didn't make the final cut. I'm hoping they'll all turn up on a rarities compilation (like Ghost's Hidden Darts and Wallabee Champ albums) someday.

After hearing virtually nothing but negativity about The Blueprint 3, I was a little hesitant to hear it. But it's really not bad. Definitely not his best work (nor his worst), but an enjoyable album overall and not nearly deserving of all the hate. Though, I have to admit that I am also a die-hard Jay-Z fan and can be pretty biased in that regard. But at least B3 wasn't completely unlistenable like Kanye's last one!
