Here is a treat for you - &nbsp PETER HAMMILL &nbsp - vocalist/composer from the previous treat (Van Der Graaf Generator), the 'Hendrix of the voice'.

My Room &nbsp this is a Van Der Graaf Generator song from the 1976 album 'Still Life', played here solo in 1981 in his original 'skeleton' style.
An extraordinary and mesmerising performance, but typical of the thin man.

Ophelia - a great live version from 1983. Unusually, here he performs with a backing band. Nic Potter is seen here on guitar, who played bass guitar in Van Der Graaf Generator for a short while in the early days (ca.1970).

Just Good Friends - with violinist Stuart Gordon who sometimes backs him up on tour.

This Side of the Looking Glass &nbsp - again pushing against the boundaries, here with an orchestra in 1981, a song from his 1976 album 'Over'.

Still Life &nbsp - title track from the 1976 VDGG album of the same name, played here solo in 'skeleton' style in 2001.

My own favourite Peter Hammill albums are listed below, all three are live and solo performances, with no backing band, this is Peter Hammill at his best. The solo studio albums are sometimes variable:

The Peel Sessions - recorded live and solo for the John Peel BBC radio show, this CD has limited availability nowadays, probably most easily picked up on eBay.
The first three tracks are quite extraordinary (Faint Heart And The Sermon / The Emperor In His War Room / (No More) The Sub-Mariner).
These three tracks have been 'remastered' and added as bonus tracks to the remastered album "In Camera" (if you can get past the experimental Gog/Magog).

Skeletons of Songs - no links available for this unofficial, double CD bootleg.

Typical: Solo Performances - double CD, live and solo, listen out for the unlisted secret tracks at the end, but be patient because there is a long gap before they start.
