thankyou!
I can't believe that I'm just learning about this. I feel like I'm the last one.
NewsRadio is on DVD. The Complete First and Second Seasons.
With commentaries by the entire cast (Dave Foley, Maura Tierney, Stephen Root, Andy Dick, Khandi Alexander, Vicki Lewis, and Joe Rogan), virtually every writer, director Tom Cherones, the producers (including Brad Grey) and even Warren Littlefield(!) Each commentary has at least three people interacting.
Guest stars from those two seasons include Janeane Garofolo, Dennis Miller, John Ritter, Bebe Neuwirth, Tone Loc, Anthrax, David Cross, George Hamilton and (last but least) Norm Macdonald.
Let me just say that Amazon (which usually bungles its recommendations for me) came up with the most flattering, insightful and appropriate search results The Complete Calvin and Hobbes, Arrested Development, The Simpsons, Scrubs1 [which is also the "Better Together" choice], Sports Night, Night Court, The Muppet Show, The X-Files, Smokin' at the Half Note [LIVE] (how did they know?) .
It's time to raid the couch for my bankroll.
[from the Amazon review] "We hear about the casting of the show, Foley's uncanny ability to memorize a script, the art of the archaic reference, and how the fix-it man was--for the half the pilot--Ray Romano2 . But if you don't have time for the commentaries, watch and laugh hard at the 10-minute (!) gag reel."
I miss NewsRadio.
Episodes include Smoking, Big Day, Rat Funeral, The Cane and Presence.
I miss Phil Hartman.
1 There you go Rushmore.
2 There you go again.
I have a tough time proofreading stuff...
Sounds great, some of the best names in there Neuwirth, Ritter and Stephen Root. Not forgetting the brilliant Phil Hartman. Man, i may have to check this out. it's weird, from the cast, and general look of the show, seems more like a saturday night live sketch. seems to have that vibe. Stephen Root is very funny, he was in office space (one of my favourites.) thx for teeling me, i'll check it out
I also highly recommend Newsradio. :)
