Not a bad list at all, even though I wouldn't consider Jaws as the scariest film ever. I think that Halloween and Don't Look Now (the last one in its own very special, but excellent way) would have made #1 for me.

Yeah...I think they focused more on specific moments from each movie...and maybe Jaws made it because of its place in popular culture more than anything. And to think...the shark didn't show up sooner only because they couldn't get it to work! :)
