Author Comments:

I stole their list. I've seen the numbered ones.

You've completed the 100 then!

No, sorry. Just the ones in bold font. I mean to show the ones I haven't seen as well as the ones I have.

advice: i was told how great #60-Raging bull was and when i watched it i found it to be boring.

i think it just ran a little over the run time. it was by no means a bad film, the acting was great but i think (and this is just my opinon) that it was a situation where it just didnt live up to the hype.

have you ever had that happen to you? when everyone says a film is great and you end up hating it?

Honestly, that was my case with Rushmore. I didn't hate it, but my friends told me how great it was and I didn't see it. But I will rewatch it sometime.

Though, I've tried to watch Raging Bull twice and some circumstances (I have to go to class and don't get around to finishing it) come up, but the first 45 minutes have been great...the two times I've seen them.

All the time! I'm especially horrified when they get Oscar nominations :(.

So, you've seen all top 100, then?

See comments. Sorry.

they're all showing in bold to me.

Hmmm.

I hope it's fixed now. How's it look?

now, to me, nothing's bold, the numbers only go to 70 and there are several blank lines. and some of the movies aren't numbered.

Yes, I decided to change my formatting strategy. Now, instead of putting them in bold, I've numbered only the ones I've seen. If it doesn't have a number, that means I haven't seen it. I thought that might be more legible. Is it?

Do you think it showed all bold to them because you were using the strong tag instead of the bold tag (b)?

Could be. I'm an html poser.

I like this approach! One cool side effect is that it automatically counts for you the number that you've seen. I'd ditch the extra blank lines, but that's just me. I think I'm going to have to steal this idea...

... stolen! And as a bonus, I discovered a bug that was causing those extra blank lines to appear.

I'm flattered that you would steal a stolen list from me :).

Oops! Who'd you get it from?

IMDB.

Ah, I see, I thought you meant you'd taken the idea of tracking what you'd seen of the list from another Listologist.

That's "borrowing" ;).

I'd considered cloning this type of list, but then I realized I'd then have to make a list for every major film canon (not particularly fond of the IMDB one anyway), and then I'd have to keep them ALL updated as I watch new movies. Blech... too much work.

This list is a snapshot of a moment in time. I do not think it is canon. For example, Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring was in the number one spot for a while.

How did you find The Seven Samurai?

Loved, loved, loved it. One of the greatest movies of all time! Have you seen it?

No, unfortunately not. :(

You have something to live for, then. Set aside a day, because it is 3.5 hours long :).
