Great list - I must clone it.
I shall include on my list The West Wing, Star Trek TNG, Dallas, and perhaps ER. Also NYPD Blue, Homicide - Life On The Street, Highlander, and perhaps The Third Watch, The Shield and The Sopranos.
You don't include any British TV - like wot where be I. I shall add Blackadder, Yes Prime Mnister, Cracker, Chancer.
I will perhaps also include Fawlty Towers and I Claudius, allthough they are pre-1984.
