Best double albums/cd's excluding live albums, compilations, greatest hits, and soundtracks

I now I'm missing a BUNCH of double lp's/cd's-but it was an idea I had for a poll and I wanted to get it in before I left for work. PLEASE feel free to add those I missed...all suggestions taken as long as they follow the guidelines (sorry fans of Frampton Comes Alive, Saturday Night Fever and Beatles Red/Blue albums)...

Hey, I can't believe it! you're missing two great double albums by the Clash- London Calling and Sandinista! Those would get my vote for sure!

I agree with xfanatic50 were is Sandanista!

sorry folks...i'll definitely add "london calling" but i gotta nix "sandinista!" simply because it was originally a 3-record set...if i add that i gotta add george harrison's "all things must pass" which may be better than everything already on the list...peace folks

A few you might consider including are The Rolling Stones' Exile on Main Street (which would get my vote), Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation, and Captain Beefheart & the Magic Band's Trout Mask Replica. The last may be a cult fave, but the first two surely can find a home here...

Great poll; if you search, I think you could find some top ten lists of double albums somewhere here...

Shalom, y'all!

Exile on Main Street gets my vote also.

thanx!!! i knew there had to be some major titles i was missing...this is probably due to the fact that besides "tumbling dice" and "happy", i haven't heard the album(exile). the other bands i've heard of but aren't familiar with...

You'll have to check out Exile some time. Great album, but it usually takes several listens to sink in completely.

And welcome! I've really been enjoying your input here.

Shalom, y'all!
