Author Comments:

Chronicling the acts that have represented the United Kingdom in the European Song Contest. They did not participate in the first competition in 1956 or the third in 1958 but since 1959 have been an ever-present, winning five times and coming 2nd a record 15 times. Recent entries have not done particularly well, due to a combination of lacklustre efforts, poor songs, bloc voting from other European countries and the country's general unpopularity.
