Author Comments:
This is by no means updated, I just wanted to bold Raging Bull.
178/250 - 71.2%
Bold = have seen
Red = haven't seen
The Incredibles...in the top 150? Well, here's to IMDB's wacky formula.

Wow, you've seen quite a few!
After the top 100, the watched sort of pan out.
You need to get cracking. You're behind.
Yeah, really. This past summer and the one before you wouldn't believe how many times I went to my local library and checked out a lot of the movies on this list. I would let the movies sit around thinking I'd get around to them but a week would pass and I'd have to return them without seeing them. I should have seen so many more.
Also, I have quite a few unfinished films on this list (Godfather II, Lawrence of Arabia, Raging Bull, Alien, Blade Runner, Full Metal Jacket, Cool Hand Luke, The African Queen, Die Hard, The Conversation, 12 Monkeys, Network) which I've seen a good portion of but didn't want to say I'd seen them because I'd not finished them.
I've done the same. I remember seeing a portion of a film, but I can't take credit for it. Or, I'm 50% sure I've seen it, but I can't remember a thing about it, so I have to see it again.
Such a strange place, that IMDb Top 250 list. The Usual Suspects and The Matrix better movies than The Third Man? No, I think not. That's what happens when 15-year-olds vote, I guess. No offense to the 15-year-old Listologists out there, but geez, the IMDb list is blasphemous.
It really is. And where all the Lord of the Rings movies are in the top 10. But to soften the shock of it all, it's better to know that it's based on votes from members and what the top 1000 posters on IMDB say. Take a look at the number of votes for The Matrix then see how many Sunset Boulevard or Once Upon a Time in the West have.
Demonstrates the dangers of mob rule.
Indeed it does. And you could take that theory to many things in life, such as religion. But that's another discussion.
