More favorites from years past.

Excellent choices! You've got a great range of taste.

Thanks!

Many kudos for Whatever and Ever Amen. That is a wonderful album. Other than that, OK Computer, and the Simpsons soundtrack, I haven't heard any albums on this list, reminding me that I am rather unacquainted with music of the late 90's.

Are you not a big fan of (What's the Story) Morning Glory? I love that album too.

Can't say that I'm a big fan of Oasis, for whatever reason. I wasn't even paying attention to the Britpop wars of the mid 90s, so I guess that window of opportunity passed me by. Though I do like Blur.

I noticed you have 2 Old 97's albums on this list, but Satelite Rides isn't on the 2000 - Present list. That's the only Old 97's album I've heard. Do you actually dislike it, or were there just too many good albums for that year? Is it significantly different than their other albums?

Also, Wilco's Summerteeth is a new favorite of mine. The song "We're Just Friends" is about to make its way onto my addictions list.

These favorite albums lists are rather impressive, and I'll probably add some of the music to my list of albums I wish I had!

Ok, I just talked to my dad, and apparently he owns half of the albums from this list! So hopefully it won't be too long until I get to hear it.

I don't think that Satellite Rides is all that different, maybe a bit more pop than the rest of their albums. I like it just fine, but there were a few tracks I ended up skipping past after so many listens. Plus, the other albums from that year were really, really good.

Hope you enjoy what you find!

yay! A fan of country rock! I love Wilco and Whiskeytown, The Old 97's and Son Volt... some very very good choices!

Thanks! I used to live near the town in southerin Illinois where Tweedy and Farrar started Uncle Tupelo, so I feel like I have this connection (albeit totally fabricated) to those guys. And Wilco is the best thing going right now.
