Alright, Buffy is certainly sliding down my happy list.

First, I know I didn't really watch much when Faith was all the rage, but can there be a sorrier character? Boring; if this is one of the big events of this season, I'm worried.

Last episode was utterly unbelievable and lame.

AND NOW!!!!

(Mild spoiler, but Johnny Waco, DO NOT READ!)

I discover that, as usual, another show is going to kill off my favorite character. I won't say who it is, and the spoiler tag is only because Mr. Waco knows who my fave is from off-site conversations. Television always does this to me. I forgave China Beach for it, but with all the horrible mis-steps Buffy has made lately, I'm a bit steamed!

Alright, rant over. Buffy is losing its charm. 24 and Gilmore still satisfy, thankfully...

Ah, thanks Gilmore Girls, for what tonight was easily the very best hour of television I've seen all season long.

And Michael York to boot!

Nice choice with Arrested Development. I know everyone is jumping on this bandwagon (tv critic-wise) but it's with great reason. This is such a fabulous show.

Thanks! I don't rate it quite as highly as some television critics, but it is the only sitcom I make a point to catch each week, and it certainly ain't predictable!

Besides, last week gave us both the Fonz and Liza!

Boy, does ABC blow! After promising otherwise, they have now announced that they are ending Karen Sisco, the best show they've had in quite some time. Does anybody really wonder why this network is in such trouble?

They should pull the plug on whoever makes the decisions to pull the plugs on shows. This, after they passed Monk on to USA, only to watch it become a hit. What a bunch of losers...

nice move on "scrubs" its the best Comedy show ever made.

when did you first see it?

I actually caught the pilot back when it first aired, but I think the show has improved greatly since then.

Greatest ever? Not a bad candidate, though I think it still has a bit to go before I like it more than Absolutely Fabulous, I Love Lucy, Cheers, Fawlty Towers, NewsRadio, or WKRP in Cincinnati.

My vote for best sitcom ever is probably The Dick Van Dyke Show, though any of the above are close contenders.

Surely, though, Scrubs and Arrested Development are the best sitcoms on free TV right now!

hi again. Scrubs Season 4 just aired here. only 2 episodes so far but the first one is my favourite Scrubs Episode ever. Molly is a great character. Also, i'm going to buy Scrubs: Complete First Season, but you seem to rate Arrested Development quite highly. that is out on dvd over here in the UK already. keeping in mind i like scrubs, would you say it's worth a buy? it' £27.99

Well, I just ran that amount through an universal currency converter, and that totals out to slightly over 53 American dollars. That seems a bit rich for my blood. What is the typcial price for a recent television show's boxed season set over there?

The show itself is excellent. Between it and Scrubs, they are the only current sitcoms I ever bother with. It is an odd show, demanding a few episodes to soak in the rhythms and acclimatize to the flavor, but once it is in your blood, your laugh for hours.

I believe I saw in Uncut that it is a recent release over there. Maybe I'd wait a little and let the price drop a bit, but then I am stingy with moolah.

the price of dvds are very expensive here. here some examples of DVD prices on their first release and then the average price due to sale or "old" releases

Frasier S1 -4
First Release Price = £35.99
Usual Sale Price = £21.99 (17.99 Play.com)

The Sopranos
First Release Price = £49.99
Usual Sale Price = £34.99 (29.99 Play.com)

Six Feet Under
First Release Price = £49.99
Usual Sale Price = £39.99 (31.99 Play.com)

X Files
First Release Price = £80.99 (NOTE 7 discs)

The Simpsons
First Release Price = 34.99
Sale Price = 28.99 (29.99 play.com)

so in general i get most of my TV dvds of play.com becuase alot of the starting prices are very steap. it's best to wait about 6 / 8 months till they drop the price. thats why in general and Comparison to the rest of the prices, Scrubs - 24.99 / A / D - 27.99 isn't too bad. also in mind that they are both fairly new shows. i got Frasier Season 4 from Playusa and you guys had a great price for it. i bought it for 17.99 but in the UK retail it would have been 35+.

If it makes you feel any better (and it won't), I have often noticed that you guys tend to get cooler DVD artwork than we do.

Yeah, I know; cold comfort.

All things being relative, I say Arrested Development is worth it, though I would still probably wait a bit for the price to drop.

Eyes?

A sure sign that I need to update this list is the fact that I still have a show on it that was extremely short-lived and is now already cancelled.

It was good, though... :)

I dig Medium myself; despite Patricia's Emmy, it's the sort of low-key, unpretentious, character-driven show I find myself watching every week before I even realize it. Lost, Arrested Development, and Veronica Mars get my support as well. I know few people agree, but I like Survivor too, and I don't think it should be lumped in with other "Reality Shows" when people begin screaming about how they're all terrible...

Johnny Waco

You know, the creator of Medium is the same mind behind Moonlighting...
