I'm trying to make a CD of sexy songs and so far I only have the ones listed. I'm posting this list in order to get suggestions. I think I have enough songs listed to indicate the general tone I'm going for here.

Listology has been a great source of great recommendations in the past (musical and otherwise) and as such is the first place I thought to turn for this.

How about

Sexual Healing -Marvin Gaye
Somewhere Down the Crazy River- Robbie Robertson

Thanks for the suggestions! I'd forgotten about Marvin Gaye. I'm still searching for the Robbie Robertson track - I haven't heard it yet.

For beautiful voices how about "I'm Still in Love with You" and "Let's Stay Together" by Al Green, "Come Away with Me" and "Don't Know Why" by Norah Jones, "Your Love is King," "Sweetest Taboo," and Smooth Operator" by Sade.

And for beautiful rhythyms try the Tom Tom Club.

Feelin' Love by Paula Cole

Great song! I'd never heard it before, and before I'd even listened to the entire song I decided to include it on my mix. Actually, I like it so much I intend to check out more of her stuff; she has such a great voice!

Judging from the tracks here (two of which can be found on the Ultra Lounge compilation series), it sounds like you're looking for a soft and smooth jazzy sort of atmosphere...would I be correct?

Yes, that is basically the sound I'm going for. I'm also looking for people with fabulously sexy voices. IMO Julie London has one of the sexiest voices around.

Actually, the first three are from the Ultra Lounge series. That's where I heard them first. The CDs I heard them on were: Wild Cool & Swingin', Too; Bachelor Pad Royale; and Crime Scene.

Spooky by Dusty Springfield

'Fever' is the 'Me So Horny' of its generation and has been covered a bazillion times. I'm sure you can find one that fits.
I agree that nobody does torch like Julie London. Perhaps Eartha Kitt if you can get past the overuse of vibrato and Marilyn Monroe does a great breathy cover of 'My Heart Belongs to Daddy'.

Further advice. Make a Julie London station on Pandora. A test run of my own yielded 'Knock Me a Kiss' by Ella Fitzgerald and 'The Other Woman' by Nina Simone.

Thanks! I actually abandoned this project quite a while ago, but I still like hearing about sexy songs. I don't actively seek out music these days, though, as I have too many other interests on the go. But anything that brings up Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone just simply rocks.
