- This requires some explanation. Screenit.com is a site that ruthlessly catalogs all potentially objectionable material in a film as a parental guide. They also review movies based on quality, on a 0-10 scale, with '.5's. A simple Google site search for "10 out of 10," "9.5 out of 10," "9 out of 10," etc. reveals their top-reviewed movies since they began in 1994. Keep in mind that they rarely review foreign or truly independent films, but still, their list is laughably strange:
- First Tier:
- Apollo 13
- Toy Story 2
- Courage Under Fire
- Contact
- American Beauty
- Pulp Fiction
- Air Force One
- Waking Ned Devine
- As Good as it Gets
- A Bug's Life
- Good Will Hunting
- Saving Private Ryan
- Titanic
- Second Tier:
- Being John Malkovich
- Road to Perdition
- Amelie
- Donnie Brasco
- 187
- Wag the Dog
- Men in Black
- Seven Years in Tibet
- Shakespeare in Love
- The Truman Show
- One True Thing
- Mulan
- The Mask of Zorro
- Beyond Silence
- American History X
- Beloved
