Ferrara is a low-budget indie director who gets a lot of critical praise, but has never garnered commercial success. His films tend to push the envelope in content, but it seems to be just for the sake of being offensive. He’s got major failings as a director, not the least of which is an inability to stay on track. His continued existence as a director is both a head-scratching mystery and, at the same time, a tribute to the room for many different types in the film world. Here’s how his films rate.
I've rated the films from a zero (horrible!) to four (wonderful!) star scale, with the links going to my reviews. As usual, I've only included films I've seen.
