- Perfume, Patrick Suskind
- Just very different from anything else I've read. The main character is despicable, but his adventures are captivating.
- The Alchemist, Paulo Coelho
- A good story about following your dreams.
- The Hitchhiker's Series, Douglas Adams
- The Dirk Gently Series, Douglas Adams
- Both Adams' series, as another Listologer mentioned, make you think about the world in different ways.
- Bless Me, Ultima, Rudolfo Anaya
- A very good example of the fantastic realism that plays a large role in a lot of hispanic literature.

These are some books and series that weren't read recently enough to be on my recently read list, but that I really enjoyed and wanted to mention.

I just thought I'd mention, in case anyone hadn't seen this yet (I hadn't until a day or two ago) that Douglas Adams, author of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, died on May 11th from a heartattack.
There was an entry on memepool yesterday proclaiming May 25th to be towel day in honor of Douglas Adams. (everyone's supposed to carry a towel around for the day)
