I can only come up with 4 and please dont tell me Driving Miss Daisy...That movie should be up near the top of most overrated.
I am looking for a fifth nomination. Trading Places is probably his best. Ghostbusters is definitely A Bill Murray movie but Aykroyd was ok. Grosse Point is a real nice little movie. John Cusack is one of the best. Sneakers just barely made this list and I mean barely.
Any thoughts?
I saw House of Mirth this weekend. I added it to the list. As not an X-files fanatic, I was very impressed with Gillian Anderson she is quite good in this movie.

The Blues Brothers or The Rutles' All You Need is Cash? Granted, the latter is hardly a 'Dan Aykroyd' film, though he is in it, and the former is hardly a masterpiece, but if you must have five, and if you are really against Driving Miss Daisy, I hardly see many alternatives. Canadian Bacon? My Girl? *shudder* Exit to Eden?
Good luck.

I thought about the Rutles...and almost included it. Have you seen House of Mirth?
Like entirely too many films, House of Mirth never opened in my city. Perhaps I'll catch it on video when it is released...

Hey, All. Dan's name is spelled Aykroyd. I'd say theh only movie of his that I really liked would be Grosse Pointe Blank. Some other possible candidates would be Chaplin or My Girl.
Even if you don't like Aykroyd, the Blues Brothers movies are notable in their homage to the Blues and the greats of that musical genre. Personally, I think the Blues Brothers movies were fantastic, and that Aykroyd did a great job. Trading Places, and Sneakers were fantastic as well. Sorry.
"Chaplin". He's not in the movie all that much but it's great. A damn sight better than The House of Mirth. And yes, keep "Sneakers". It's a fine fine film.
Someone did an Esquire article recently where they recounted how they were forced to watch all of Akroyd's movies. It was quite funny. Although I got mad at him for complaining about it. I mean, hello, I'll take that job any day! It beats waitressing.
What about "Crossroads"? (Just kidding!)
