11) Walking Contradiction - Green Day (stolen from Musicislife) snatch :?)

30) I picked you out Of a crowd and talked to you.
Said I liked your shoes, You said, "Thanks, Can I follow you?"

So it's up the stairs, And out of view. No prying eyes. I poured some wine. I asked your name; You asked the time.

Now it's two o'clock. The club is closed, We are up the block. Your hands are on me, Pressing hard against your jeans, Your tongue in my mouth, Trying to keep the words from coming out, You didn't care to know Who else may have been you before.

I want a lover I don't have to love, I want a girl who's too sad to give a fuck. Where's the kid with the chemicals? I thought he said to meet him here, But I'm not sure. I've got the money If you've got the time. He said, "It feels good."
I said "I'll give it a try."

Then my mind went dark, We both forgot where your car was parked. Let's just take the train. I'll meet up with the band in the morning

Bad actors, with bad habits... Some sad singers, they just play tragic. And the phone is ringing,
And the van is leaving Let's just keep touching,
Let's just keep...keep singing

I want a lover I don't have to love, I want a boy who's so drunk he doesn't talk. Where's the kid with the chemicals? I got a hunger and I can't seem to get full. I need some meaning I can memorize. The kind I have always seems to slip my mind.

But you, but you...

You write such pretty words, But life's no storybook. Love's an excuse to get hurt.
And to hurt. Do you like to hurt?
I do, I do. Then hurt me,
Then hurt me,
Then hurt me...

Bright Eyes- Lover I Don't Have To Love

33) I wish I could live free Hope it's not beyond me Settling down takes time One day we'll live together And life will be better I have it here, yeah, in my mind Baby, you know someday you'll slow And baby, my hearts been breaking. I gave a lot to you I take a lot from you too You slave a lot for me Guess you could say I gave you my edge But I can't pretend I don't need to defend some part of me from you I know I've spent some time lying You're looking all right tonight I think we should go
Interpol: The New

34) Tribute- The Tenacious Ones
I could do the lyrics but that's probably really annoying. :?)

26) The Dead: Box O' Rain

Just tell me if you love the lyrics. I'm here to please. :?D

Hey x, throw me a bone here. Is 32 a Starsailor song?

yep... but which one????

I'm planning my sojourn to the basement to dig out Starsailor: Love Is Here (The flack gets spurned to the basement). Anyone else who knows should take this oportunity to steal this one away, it's scary in my basement. :?)

Don't know. It's not on that album.

32) Starsailor- Silence is Easy...bwahahahahahaha

42) B. Dyl ~It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)

:?( <---- sad stooky

Bobby D---It's All Right Ma(I'm Only Bleeding)

47. Our House - Madness

Nice choice.

Cool. You got it. I didn't know if anyone would get that one.

27. Times Like These - Foo Fighters
17. From the Desk of Mr Lady - Le Tigre

You're close. Number 17 is Le Tigre. And you got the right album. But you're not quite there yet.

Nobody's snapped it up so

39: Franz Ferdinand Take Me Out Baby

A friend of mine says their too darn disco, but I say he'll be into them in 6 months. Then I'll get that speech that goes "Have you ever heard of this band, they rock, they're called Franz Ferdinand?"

It's a sad thing.

The same thing happened to me with the Strokes and the White Stripes. Nobody knew who I was talking about until one day I couldn't go to a party without hearing Seven Nation Army or 12:51.

I feel your pain. On the bright side you can secretly guess how long it will take for the band to blow up. lol.

tallyho

:?)

51. You know I did a lyric from the same song over on my do the next line game, love that one, but I'll give everyone else a crack at it first.

Tallyho

:?)

24 is young crazed peeling by the distillers!!!!!

53. "Afterhours" by The Velvet Underground

42 is Dear God by XTC.

You got it!

44. BRMC - "Automatic Stop"
50. Modest Mosue - "Bukowski"
51. The Decemberists - "LA, I'm Yours"

You're right on the money with the last two, and #44 is a BRMC song, but not the one you're thinking of...

I rarely pay attention to the lyrics of a song.

Melody may be important, but some of the most brilliant poetry of our times can be found in song lyrics. :)

Oh, I agree. I have nothing against lyrics, it's just that:

1. It's often so much hard work to follow the lyrics of a song.
2. It's the sound texture and melody that sticks in my head the most
3. It's the sound texture and melody that moves my emotions the most, and emotion is primarily what I enjoy about music.
4. There are obvious exceptions to my generally ignoring lyrics: Weird Al songs, for example.

I agree with you entirely about the lyrics, especially that 'the emotion is primarily what I enjoy about music'.

For me, I only pay any real attention to the lyrics if a particular (audible) phrase stands up and grabs me.

I guess that is reflected in my score in these games.

ah! So I'm not the only one :-)

The last one is Oasis- Live Forever.

See what I mean ! &nbsp Oasis' Live Forever is a record that I have, but I'll never have got it in this game.

It's kinda depressing that, at this late date, still nobody recognizes #55. It's "A Better Son/Daughter" by Rilo Kiley, one of the most heartbreaking (and yet uplifting) songs I know.

"But you'll fight and you'll make it through / You'll fake it if you have to..."

I was so hoping somebody would know that lyric. That song is brilliant. Everybody should listen to that song when they're depressed.
