My various totally surreal film experiences

- Night of the Lepus - this was a double-bill with Donnie Darko. Clearly this was because both have rabbits in them, but whoever made this decision had obviously never seen either film.
- How to Get Ahead in Advertising - a talking boil. I laughed my ass off, but....wha?
- Vampire's Kiss - Nicholas Cage as a vampire. I had to rent this. Turns out it's Nicholas Cage THINKS he's a vampire after a run-in with a standard bat. Why does no one ever talk about this film when discussing Nick Cage? It's comedy gold, and so weird.
- A Dirty Shame - a sex-obsessed cult of concussion-sufferers takes over a conservative town. Johnny Knoxville, Selma Blair with pneumatic tits, and Tracy Ullman being as weird as I've ever seen her. This was truly bizarre.
- Killer Klowns from Outer Space - this was one of the first films I watched with my first boyfriend. How to react? Do I act like I like it? Do I laugh? Do I call it stupid? We watched it in relative silence.

You ought to try R. Kelly's "Trapped in the Closet". Now THAT's surreal. How do you react to that??
Perhaps the funniest film with Nicolas Cage has to be "The Wicker Man". I recently found out there's a montage on Youtube of all the 'funniest' moments, which gives a pretty clear picture of just how badly he overacts this one.
This is the second time today someone's mentioned that R. Kelly thing, and I'd never heard of it before. I'll have to check it out.
Nic Cage is just weird sometimes. I can never make up my mind if I like him or not.
BTW, thanks for the suggestions, and for resurrecting this old list. I'd completely forgotten I wrote it.
If you're like me, I liked his "wild hair" days. The ol' receding hairline has done that man no favors.
Yeah, his sad hammy earnestness in Moonstruck was pretty entertaining. And he had very wild hair in that one.
