- Virtual Tourist - My source for much of my travel research. Contains down-to-earth information by other travellers or locals about where to go, what to avoid, and other tips you won't find in most other guides. I have my own travel pages there that I'm gradually building - my screen name there is Susie Derkins.
- Canuck Abroad - A website for Canadian expats throughout the world. I visit the message board daily. A great place to go to remember you're not alone. I was shocked to find other Canadians felt the way I do about many things English - including a wariness about the drinking culture.
- The Sheet Music Archive - This site was incredibly helpful when I had to put together a repertoire for playing the piano at a friend's wedding. All my sheet music is in Canada, and this site helped me immensely. Two free downloads a day.
- Snopes - Who doesn't know about this site by now? Well-researched investigations into all manor of urban legends.
- Jericho Beach Webcam - My home. I check it periodically to get all wistful and teary-eyed.
- Fun Wastes of Time
- Timothy McSweeney's Internet Tendency Lists - Just check it out. Funny and strange lists about everything under the sun. I like the Super Mario pick-up lines myself.
- News of the Weird - My weekly fix of strange happenings throughout the globe.
- In Passing - This girl writes down random things she overhears and posts it on her website. Sometimes bizarre, mostly just amusing, it's amazing what strange creatures we are when taken out of context.
- I used to Believe - A collection of funny little things people used to believe. It's astounding how many people used to believe the world was once black and white.
- Not Proud - People confess anonymously. This website is a seriously guilty pleasure, and is more addictive than I feel comfortable admitting.
- Rinkworks - I came across the book-a-minute and movie-a-minute sections of this website first, but there are loads of sections that are incredibly useful in wasting away the hours. The computer stupidities is a favourite.
- Fametracker - A site I was originally referred to by someone here on Listology. Basically just a place where they snark on celebrities, or otherwise size up their worth. Check out the Fame Audit , the Hey, It's That Guy! , or the Celebrity vs. Thing sections. Very entertaining.
These are all sites I visit regularly. There is a lack of IMDB, but only because I'm assuming everyone who visits this site already knows about it.
