Thanks for the CD! Just some thoughts about it (if you're interested).

Trouble So Hard - Vera Hall - I know I've heard this in a mix song. I've never heard the original. Thanks for the choice.
No Fun - The Stooges - Iggy Pop has kind of sold out a little lately but old Stooges still rock. Hard to believe this is from 1969.
Nursery Lies - Caitlin Cary - I love Whiskeytown. Haven't heard her solo albums. Will have to check them out.
Windfall - Son Volt. This song has one of my favorite musical moments about halfway in when he sings "Switching it over to A.M.,
Searching for a truer sound;
Can't recall the call letters,
Steel guitar, I settle down.
Catching an all-night station
Somewhere in Louisiana,
Sounds like 1963
But for now sounds like heaven." Just a great moment.
Easy Way Out - Elliott Smith - So sad that he killed himself. Unfortunetly, the people who write the most heartfelt lyrics are usually the saddest.
Fixing Her Hair - Ani DiFranco - Never heard this song before. Great stuff.
Her Voice is Five Hearts Breaking - Alejandro Escovedo - Rhapsody is my favorite AE song.
The Ballad of Lucy Jordan - Marianne Faithfull - Not familar with this song. Long way off from As Tears Go By.
Radio Cure – Wilco - Sometimes Wilco gets too "alternative" for their own good and they don't let the songs be the songs. Have you seen the documentary? I bought the DVD and it's great to watch.
A Woman Left Lonely - Janis Joplin - Can't go wrong with Janis ever. Cry Baby might be my favorite but I love 'em all.
Ennui - Lou Reed - My band does Sweet Jane. I try to sing like Lou but I'll never be as cool. Who could be?
Isolation - John Lennon - Great song. Haven't heard it in a long time.
River - Joni Mitchell - This is on my CD too. You have great taste!
You May Know Him - Cat Power - I've heard a lot about them but didn't like the songs I heard. Maybe it was built up too much because I was expecting another Exile In Guyville. Will give them another chance.
Know - Nick Drake - Brilliant stuff. Pretty cool not going for the obvious Pink Moon. His stuff is impossible to play on guitar which irks me endlessly since I like it so much.
Sad Song - The Velvet Underground - Seems to be a theme here!
Love Hurts - Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris - She is my all-time favorite GP song. Great choice.
Lost Cause - Beck - Didn't like this album as much as all the critics. His voice just isn't as expressive as it could be sometimes.
Only Son - Liz Phair - (in a Homer Simpson voice) mmmmmm. Liz Phair.
I Used To Be A Brooklyn Dodger - Dion - I've never heard this before. Going to have to send this to my friend who is a big baseball guy. Great song.

Thanks for the CD! It's cool to meet someone that has the same taste as me.

John

Wow, I'm glad you enjoy the mix so much!

Thanks for the feedback.
