- 1.Dixie Chicks – Home (Album) If you want to know what is right with country music these days listen to this album. Of course if you want to find out what is really wrong with Country you can listen to this in comparison to all the pouty lipped model/Porn Stars Shania wannabes they have singing bad pop songs that they play on the same radio stations with the Chicks. They say it all in their truly infectious single Long Time Gone, where they gently lambaste the current pretty folks that "sound tired but they don't sound Haggard," and "have money but they don't have Cash"
- 2. Entenmanns Ultimate Super Cinnamon – The poor man’s home version of the Cinnabun you can find at many highway rest stops. A little bit of sugary sinful heaven.
- 3. Without A Trace- TV Show. I really hate how network TV needs to hammer any type of successful trend until you just want to scream "I really don’t give a shit about the huge surprise ending" whenever the ultra-profound voice comes on and tells you, you must stay to the end to see what we have cooked up for you this time on all these CSI and Law and Order police procedural retreads. That being said, some of these shows are pretty good. Boomtown might be the better show because of its quirky narrative style but it does not have an Actor anywhere near as good as Anthony Lapaglia in it. The plots are a touch derivative but you don’t mind with actors this good playing the roles.
- 4. Tony Kornheiser columns from his book “I’m Back For More Cash” The man pisses me off a little because he has the career I always wanted but it is hard to argue with his abilities. He is pretty darn funny in his self deprecating insulting way. Plus the man could get a ticket to just about any sporting event he wants. On second thought he sucks, yeah he really sucks. Damn.
- 5. The Sopranos. A little clichéd being addicted to The Sopranos but I am really loving this year’s edition. I know I am so very addicted because I got supremely depressed when they had the promo that said don’t miss the last 3 episodes of this year after the latest episode. You know something is really good when it can want you leaving more even when there are more episodes left. One of the great touches of this show is the pop culture references that can be found throughout. Whether it is having Tony watching Rio Bravo and then having Dean Martin’s excellent title song from that movie playing over the final credits or having Christopher watching some old Our Gang Little Rascal clip while he is shooting up some heroin is just classic television. I still am of the opinion it just might be the best television show I have ever seen.
- 6. Ok Go! Ok Go (Album) catchy, slightly off kilter pop music. A winning formula anytime in my book
- 7. Neko Case Blacklisted and Furnace Room Lullaby(albums) If you took Julie London and put her in a Sergio Leone spaghetti Western, you would get Neko Case. Her songs I wish was the Moon and Porchlight are especially addictave.
- 8. Alec Guiness See my latest Damned list for more evidence (Yes this a cheap mindless plug) The Man could act.
- 9. Red Stripe Beer. Nothing more needs to be said realy about this
- 10. 24. (TV Show) I like this season so far more than last years.

10 addictions and I only think the Red Stripe is really life threatening

Only five addictions? Man, you are so much healthier than me...;)
I guess since I finally kicked the cigs (half a year now), I can deal with the habits I have.
I heard the Dixie Chicks album twice, and while I'm not an expert on country music, it certainly sounded to my ears like their Big Step Forward. The best new country album I've heard in a while. Great quotes.
I'll have to check out 3 and 4, although I'm still smarting on the inaccessibility of the Sopranos. I'll have to rent the DVDs soon.
Great fun (and suggestions)!
Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs not being an expert on Country music and you are not a fottball fan either. Can't that get you thrown out of Oklahoma.
They've tried. Oh, they've tried.
I certainly felt more at home in MA than in OK, but Tulsa is certainly habitible.
Not being a football fan is certainly more of a stand-out than the country music thing. Although I do now own two Willie Nelson albums, for what that is worth...
:)
Shalom, y'all!

I need to listen to the Neko Case album. I've only heard one song off of it, but it was terrific, and I still enjoy her Furnace Room Lullaby album.
24 is rather tasty, eh? I have some great theories about who's good and who is bad, but I will spare you. Suffice it to say, it is the only show on television I never miss.
Great list, as always!
Shalom, y'all!

Definitely Check out the Neko album. If you liked Lullaby will you enjouy this one too. Also if you haven't already give OK go a listen. Fun music is often hard to find in this ultra serious new century.
We will have to share theories on 24 sometimes. Very good show last night. (very Little Kim will do that for you.)
Indeed. Besides, if you gotta have a Kim scene, ya might as well throw in a dead body... :)
Tons of fun, even if I'm finding out way too much about last season watching this one. I'm hooked.
I've seen an OK video, but I haven't heard more of the album. I'll have to check that one out too.
Shalom, y'all!

Neco Case is a rockin' Canadian icon.(yay) She also has a band called The New Pornographers kickin' around somewhere.
What made you buy a Neko album in the first place?
Neko Case was recommended to me by someone a while ago. I have been listening to her for some time. I have heard a couple of the New Pornagraphers albums, I may even own one somewhere.
I do own a tape of Zumpano's Look what the Rookie did and I think one of the members of that band was in New Pornographers too.
You from Vancouver? Love that area....
Zumpano, cool.
I look longingly at Vancouver from up north, it's so sunny and nice lookin'. Sadly, I live in the middle of B.C., where it's cold 360 days of the year and you have to run outside naked the other 5 to get a good tan. :?)
