I like most of the artitst on your list. Nina Simone's "Love me or Leave Me" is still a personal favorite. I'd suggest adding Diana Krall.

Any suggestions for Nancy Wilson? I don't know that I've heard any of her work.

Check out anything she did with Cannonball Aderly.

I think Diana Krall is ok, but does she really have a place in this list?

I dont know if Lena Horne , even in all her greatness , is much of a Jazz singer , considering she doesn't improvise in her singing like the rest of the women in your list , But I will definetly have to give you recognition on Billie , Ella , Sarah , Dinah , Nina , Cassandra , and Shirley . But dont forget the other greats like Carmen McRae , Blossom Dearie , Helen Merril , Jerri Southern , June Christy , Chris Connor , Astrud Gilberto , Diane Reeves , Anita O'day , Etta Jones , and Ernestine Anderson . Then you have the artists like Etta James who are not strictly jazz , but when she sings jazz , she really sings it , better than even some of the Greats
