Wow, 2003 is shaping up nicely. Another formerly commentless list gets comments! Not that you necessarily did it for me, but thanks!
Actually it was so I wouldn't have to go back and add them every time you asked ;)
"the most strange thing is that I kept thinking of Rushmore "
Not too strange, really - There is a lot of Hal Ashby in Wes Anderson's films.
Shalom, y'all!

What did you think of Magnolia?
I started out the year so good about comments and then... stopped.
The ending was entirely unexpected but it somehow worked. Overall I thought it was ok but not in my top 10.
Want to guess which movie I'm going to ask about?
err, which one? ;)
:-) Yojimbo's the one I'm curious about this time.
Good, but not as good as Seven Samurai.
Nothing's better than The Seven Samurai. :-) One of the two best films ever made!
What's the other one?
I'll field this one. dgeiser13 considers "Citizen Kane" and "The Seven Samurai" to be the only two movies worthy of his highest rating, 10 stars.
While I liked Citizen Kane, I didn't find it to be quite that overwhelming. What's the attraction?
I guess I could say that they're the only two films that I've ever seen which achieve 100% perfection, across the board, at every level, in each aspect of the filmmaking process.
I'm not saying that they are the only films worthy of a 10. Just the only films that I've seen.
What did you think of O Brother, Where Art Thou?
decent with some very funny parts but definitely not my favorite of theirs
I know you haven't been commenting in general, but your latest is pretty funny. Did I ever mention that my movie pick for prom night was the '86 version of The Fly? That has to be a contender for worst first date movie too.
I figured someone would get a kick out of that ;)
I went on a double date for the prom and the movie that was selected by the other guy in our group was The Natural (1984). Not exactly romantic fare.
No, not exactly romantic fare, but I don't think it's quite in the same league of date unfortunateness as Willard (which I have not seen, but I'm guessing) or The Fly. I suppose it might depend on the date.
How was X-Men 2?
Pretty good, though I think I would have understood more if I'd seen the first one.
Howdja like Donnie Darko?
I'm not sure I totally understand it, but it was pretty good.
You saw "Gigantic"! I'm jealous. I don't think it'll ever come to my area. How'd you like it?
Also, what did you think of "The Station Agent"? That film has generated quite a lot of critical acclaim. Do you agree with the concensus?
gigantic was fun. especially once i stopped thinking about the fact that i was watching a documentary about a rock band.
station agent was decent though not amazing. it was slower than i was expecting in some ways, but with some really great scenes.
