  1. A list of my 200-250 (varies) favourite episodes of any sitcom, ever. Subject to variation, updates, etc. YMMV. Was going to do episodes of any type of show, but I mostly watch sitcoms anyway, and the odd 24 or House episode would look out of place. Look for a similar drama list in the near future. The list includes animated sitcoms. I haven't seen all episodes of all shows featured, so if a blindingly obviously brilliant Everybody Loves Raymond episode or whatever is missing, I probably haven't seen it. Or I don't like it enough. :) Prepare to be disappointed with the numerous Christmas episodes present, too. Purple monkey dishwasher.

Very fun list! This is all very subjective, of course, but I loved reading your picks.

Interesting that the only two South Park episodes here were produced one right after another in the 5th season, and aired within a month of each other. I'm not sure if those two are my all-time favorites, but they might be the ones that push the limits of good taste in the funniest and most outrageous ways.

I noticed you didn't include any Scrubs episodes from the 4th or 5th seasons here. Do you not like them much, or have you just not caught them yet?

I might have to put together a clone of this at some point, possibly in a different format...

Yeah, you're right about my South Park choices, they push the boundaries, and they're very memorable too. I must admit I haven't seen S7 onwards, however, so there may be some missing from there.

I haven't seen Scrubs S4/5 yet, as I wait for the DVDs nowadays. (Same with a lot of favourite shows, actually.) I've heard mixed things.. some episodes excellent, some poor.

I'd be very interested in seeing a clone!

Great List. some Classics here My Old Lady, brilliant. but theres one episode i'm very happy to see here Cheer's Pick A Con, Any Con . When i first started watching it, that was the episode that confirmed for me how great it was. one of the best in history of TV.

T'is a good list. A bit debatable about whether the likes of The Simpsons, Futurama, South Park, King of the Hill, etc can be classified as sitcoms. Then again, they are comedies and the characters get involved in situations, so the term is passable, I guess!
I would, of course, have put more Fawlty Towers in it, but then, Waldorf Salad is brilliant (possibly my favourite episode) and as you haven't seen that many episodes, it doesn't really matter.

Would you say you'd have put all 12 episodes of FT in a top 200?

Hmm...not all 12 episodes. But certainly half of them at least. I'd put in Communication Problems, Waldorf Salad, Hotel Inspectors, Gourmet Night, The Germans and The Kipper and the Corpse in for sure. Because there's only a few episodes and most of them are very good, FT has a better chance of getting a larger percentage of its total episodes into a top 200 list compared to say, The Simpsons.

Something I've been wondering... why is the finale your favorite Arrested Development episode? I thought it was a cute way to wrap things up and of course featured plenty of callbacks to the rest of the series, but I didn't think it was a spectacular finale, and I certainly thought there were better episodes earlier on in the show's life. What was it about this show that made it your favorite Arrested Development?

Pretty much exactly what you described there! I really enjoyed the callbacks, and it all tied into a neat little finale that gave a real sense of closure. Maybe not the funniest episode, but the best overall for me, and very tightly scripted.

Yeah, I guess I thought that episode was a bit too callback-heavy and relied way too strongly on callbacks to the pilot. I'd probably have to watch them all again to pick a single favorite (and I just might), but a few that stand out for me just off the top of my head are Pier Pressure, Good Grief!, and The Sword of Destiny.
