I throw myself on the mercy of listology...

With all do respect..you should feel guilty.

The Running Man used to be one of my guilty pleasures, but there was a while when it seemed to be on TNT every 10 minutes, and I burned out. A very legitimate guilty pleasure, though!

Well, at least you don't have to feel guilty about Babe, but does this talking animal mojo extend to Gordy? Howard the Duck? :)

So ya' have an Arnold jones you must satisfy. I'll forgive you, but the tenth-rate Spielberg knock-off that is Goonies is a bit harder to swallow. I was that film's target audience when it arrived, and I still couldn't stand it.

My wife digs Joe vs. the Volcano, and I haven't seen it yet, so I can hardly throw a stone over that one.

But Goonies, man... Cyndi Lauper's theme song, The Goonies 'R' Good Enough, was a top ten hit, yet she was so ashamed, she left it off of her best-of, 12 Deadly Cyns. Beware, all, beware.

"Baby Ruth!"

But you did pick up a copy of Simple Men, so all is forgiven. You've been pardoned, my good friend! :)

Shalom, y'all!

Haven't seen Gordy, but Howard the Duck is disqualified for the simple reason that he isn't a real animal. The talking animals in question must be real (with limited sfx to make mouths move, etc.).

Ah, thanks for the Ahnold reminder. Had to add Predator to my own Guilty Pleasures list.

Ah, good, diverse reactions! Yeah, I suppose Arnold S. is a bit of a favorite (at least in the eighties). No, bangs, no Gordy or Howard the Duck. I'm thinking more any variation on the Homeward Bound theme; the most embarrasing is the straight to video "Homeward Bound II: Lost in San Fransisco." The "urban" dogs speaking ebonics are hilarious...

Homeward Bound wasn't bad, but I can see where you'd feel guilty about the sequel. O gracious. :-)

And I don't even have children! I don't know what to say...

Johnny Waco

Well, even if I didn't have a daughter, I'd probably still like Elmo in Grouchland (without nearly enough guilt), so don't feel bad.

I've totally forgotten about The Running Man. That is an awesome movie!!!! It remains one of my favorite Arnold flicks.

Totally. It makes me laugh every time I see it...

Johnny Waco

i can't believe there is someone else who enjoys movies with talking animals.

There's nothing better after a long day than talking animals. I mean, anyone with pets already imagines what they would say if they could talk. It's only a short step...

Johnny Waco

there is absolutely nothing shameful about liking the goonies. seriously, folks. it's the GOONIES.

That's the problem... ;)

Shalom, y'all!

Joe vs. the Volcano and Wild Things are definitely on my list, and I hadn't seen goonies till just recently but that movie cracked me up.
I'm not sure what it is about Joe vs. the Volcano, but I just can't get enough
