Directors I Wish Would Stop Making Movies

  • Don't get me wrong, he's made some decent movies... but for every decent movie he makes he comes out with 2 candidates for worst movie of all-time, and I mean that literally... And if it were only that... than i could probably just tolerate him, but he's not satisfied with just making bad movies... first he has to remake every good movie there ever was... and make them all bad and creepy at the same time... If it's not that it's taking a good book, butchering it, changing it all about, adding some movie magic bullshit and making it into sleepy hollow.

  • First off he is in line to make "Halloween 9"... that should be enough for him to stop making movies... but no, his resume gets worse... add to what i've seen listed below such horrible sounding movies like "Karate Dog", "Rhinestone", "Superbabies: Baby Geniuses II"(which is ranked the worst rated movie of all time on IMDB) and "Porky's II: The Next Day".

  • "Timeline", "Maverick", and "The Goonies" are easily my 3 least favorite movies of all time... they have no redeeming quality in them, not a performance, not a casting choice, not a plot twist, not a thing that works, not even a little bit... the only thing that comes close is casting James Coburn, because the man is amazing, but that goes out the window with how obviously misused he is in "Maverick".

  • Can't stand his movies and never could. It's pretty sad that after three shots, a huge budget, and basically any cast he desires he couldn't even outdo crap like "Sabata" for the best movie featuring a gunman disguised as a long haired guitar player... not to mention the rest of the shitty movies he agreed for some reason to direct... The first film of his i saw was El Mariachi and I was really excited because of all the hype... problem is that people forgot that the movie sucked because it looked so good for so little money.

and what the hell... take some of the ones you made and burn em while you're at it.

The only criteria was making terrible movies... and having made a movie sometime in the last two years.

I'm almost ready to nominate Ridley Scott for this list, but I do hold out a small amount of hope for him. I find it hard to believe that Gladiator was directed by the same person as Thelma and Louise.

yeah... i'm still holding out hope as well... as i have never seen gladiator.

Not that I agree with evrything you said, but it's a good, funny list. Rock rock on.

who knew there was a From Dusk Till Dawn 2... I started watching From Dusk Till Dawn and realized it wasn't the same movie i had hated before... Come to find out i had watched the sequal on showtime but my cable left out the "2" in the info... the real From Dusk Till Dawn wasn't actually that bad... of course the worst part was the direction... really ruined what moderate appeal the movie had.

Actually, there's 3 From Dusk Till Dawns;

1. From Dusk Till Dawn (1996)
2. From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money (1999)
3. From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter (2000)

Bob Clark made some incredible horror movies in the early 70s. Those, plus the great "Christmas Story", give me a smidgen of hope that perhaps he's got one more awesome movie in him. Not holding my breath, though.

Tim Burton didn't actually make The Nightmare Before Christmas, he wrote the story and co-produced it but the screenplay was written by Caroline Thompson and Michael McDowell and it was directed by Henry Selick.
