What did you think of Tati's PLAYTIME?
This Rosie's post captured my exact thoughts about it:
"The other (Tati's movies) were even better. I think Playtime is too busy; it's full of sight gags. I couldn't take it all in. I actually prefer the others because they are sweeter, quieter, and more charming."
It was funny, but it was also rather "pressing".
I'm sure Tati meant it to be 'pressing' - it is, of course, a satirical thrust at big-city lifestyles, as distinct from the less frantic, more humane (but certainly not problem-free) lifestyles depicted in JOUR DE FETE and M. HULOT'S HOLIDAY.
I guess less frantic template suits me more. ;) Is Playtime your favorite Tati's movie?
Either PLAYTIME or M. HULOT'S HOLIDAY - probably the latter.
Well you can't go wrong with Tati's movies, I guess. I hardly know anybody who hates them.
