Author Comments:

This is the "year" that I tried to be a high school English teacher. I don't think I will be doing that again. 16 books! 4 of these were part of my coursework for my alternative certification program to be a high school teacher (I have a Master's degree in English plus 70 additional graduate hours and I taught college for 7 years as a graduate student, and you are telling me I'm not qualified to teach high school???), 2 were books I re-read because I was teaching them, and 2 were books I read because I was in a state of total desperation. What a complete waste of my life this year was. All I did this year was fight with kids all day, come home and go crazy and be stressed out for a few hours, pass out and sleep for about 9 hours (when I could sleep at all, that is), and then get up and go back to fighting with kids all day. The moral of this story is that if you value your own sanity, never, never, never try to teach high school. You won't do anything but fight with kids all day.
