Unanswered in BoldI have had a lot of fun playing other people's games. I thought I would do one of my own. Good luck some are easy some I will be surprised if anyone gets them.

Nice job on Claudette Colbert. My wife is named Claudette after this actress and this role. Look for clues in the discussion area

Lbangs -9
Bertie -1
Ash Campbell -3
Mwatts13 -1
Dgeiser13 -1
Proffessor -8*

* Means the contestant may have used illegal means of acquiring the info...

A few of these I'm still thinking on...

3 - Jerome Cowan in The Maltese Falcon
10 - Cary Grant in Gunga Din (My, I love that film...)
16 - Claudetee Colbert in It Happened One Night

4 and 7 are killin' me!

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

Gee, the more I look at these, the more 4, 8, 12, and 13 are driving me nuts! I should know these! ARGHHH!

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

#7 is Abe Vigoda in the Godfather

13 is Susan Sarandon's character from Bull Durham.

All answers so far have been correct

Of course. 12 is Rutger Hauer from Blade Runner. After your comment, I went over my own lists to jog my memory. When I hit Blade Runner, the light went on.

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

wasn't "russell hammond" billy crudup's character in almost famous?

Of course. 1 - Ingrid Bergman - Notorious

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

#6 is Malcom McDowell from a clockwork orange and 15 is warren beatty from the great movie REDS>

correct on both and Lbangs is correct on Notrious.

Wow, I directed Notorious! (See above. Yeah, really lame joke...)

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

On the one hand you might be rich , but you would also be dead. A tough trade off. Corrected and new entries added

#22. John Cusack Being John Malkovich
#24. Dustin Hoffman The graduate.

Correct on both counts

Ok I was thinking of a way to spruce up this game and get some more correct know give some hints. So here is my solution. I am going to give the name of an Actor or Actress who is also in the movie but not the name of actor actress playing the part in question. Hope that makes sense.

2. Jane Wyman
5. Walter Brennan
8. Agnes Moorehead
9. Blythe Danner
11. Kirk Douglas
14. Elizabeth Shue
17. Sam Sheppard
18. Voctor Mclaglen
19. Kevin Pollack
20. Brigitte Helm
21. Charlie Sheen
23. Harrison Ford
25. Shelly Winters
26. Peter Ustinov
27. Alan Ladd
28. Jodie Foster (though this isn't much of a hint)
29. Natalie Wood
30. Frank Morgan

Hope this helps with some correct answers

I know the film for 23, but for the life of me, I can't recall the actor. I am full of shame...

Great hint, though. I didn't recall this until I saw the other actor.

Oddly enough, I kept thinking 28 WAS a Jodi Foster character. Maybe my brain is trying to tell me something...

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

This was on television last night, so I finally took not of the actor's name.

23 - John Rhys-Davies, Raiders of the Lost Ark

I'm a bit surprised nobody beat me to this!

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

Ah, gee. 25 is Robert Mitchum from the Night of the Hunter. I really shouldn't have need a hint for this one...

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

Marcus Crassis is Laurence Olivier from Spartacus, I think and Gordon Cooper was Dennis Quaid from The Right Stuff.

Correct on Mitchum. Jodie had a small part in the cinmeatic masterpeice (this statement is dripping with sarcasm)

Correct on both Olivier and Quaid

By the way, I hope you're happy. 8 is absolutely killing me...

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

Yes I must say I am a little disapointed in you on that one. One of my favorite movies of all time.

And you really should know 5 and 29. Here is a hint on 8. It might be considerd one of the greatest movies of all time but they screwed up the ending.

Thanks for the hint. I can't believe it took so long.

Joseph Cotton - The Magnificent Ambersons

I knew I knew it...

Still thinking on the others. The Ethan one does sound familiar. I keep trying to make it Humphrey Bogart, but I don't know why.

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

Correct on Cotton. Wouldnt it be wonderful if we could see the original cut on this movie.Hints on the other 2-They are from the same genre and both starred the same Actor. One of them is also known for having a very weak ending.

That did it. I started trying to think of actors who are known particlarly known for their work in one genre. That pretty much cinched it.

Ethan, I believe, is John Wayne's character in The Searchers.

Sadly enough, I'm still thinking on Matthew Garth. I have a good guess, but I'm not sure about it at all. I'm going to think a bit more.

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

Correct on The searchers the other movie is the one which is known for a very contrived ending.

Then I'll go ahead and throw out my guess, as it would fit. Was it the name of Clift's character in Red River? I would guess Wayne again, but your clues let me know it isn't him, and Clift's the only other male lead in the film. The clues match, but I just can't remember anybody calling him Matthew, Matt, et. al. I haven't seen the film in years, however, so don't laugh too hard if I'm wrong.

Alright, go ahead. But only behind my back!

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

You are correct with Clift. He usually was called Matt in the movie. Did you know Cary Grant was supposed to play the part of Cherry Valance and it was supposed to be a much bigger part. The ending sucks. Clift should have killed Wayne.

No. 18 is John Wayne in the Quiet Man
No. 27 Sophia Loren, Boy on a Dolphin
No. 31 William Holden, Sunset Boulevard
No. 37 Alex Guiness, Bridge on River Qui

No. 30 hint. Frank Morgan was a great character actor. He was the wizard in Wizard of Oz... so Hunk Andrews (a guess) was Bert Larr, a farm hand in same as well as the Cowardly Lion.

Hi back, You are correct on these 4, but Lahr is close but not correct.

Oddly enough, I accidentally ran across the answer to number 2 flipping through a film guide last night (I just ordered another DVD by the same director, and was reading through his films). I'm not going to guess, though, as I'm not sure I would ever have remembered it on my own, especially without hints.

Great game!

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

#19 is the heavenly Tom Cruise in A Few Good Men.
#27 Phaedra is ringing some bells, but I can't place it.

Here is a Hint on Phaedra. If you think Tom Cruise is heavenly. Then I can certainly say the same about this woman who is still stunning in her Sixties.

40 is Alex Karras from Blazing Saddles.

No wrong large man in a Comedy. I believe Karras was Mongo or something like that...

More hint time. This time I am am giving another movie where this person played a significant role.

2.Dial M For Murder
9.The Arrival (1996)
11.My Darling Clementine
14. Face Off
20. Ekel, Das
21. The Grifters
28. Myra Breckenridge
30. April in Paris
32. Superman 2
33. Bowfinger
34. Stakeout
36. Divorce American Style
37. The Wild Bunch
38. Terminator
39. Willard
40. Planes, Trains and Automobiles

I believe 38 is Michael Beihn from Aliens, and 40 is John Candy from Stripes.

Correct on both counts, Jim

Ox is John Candy from Stripes. I think his name was actually Oxburger though.

#37 Ernest Borgnine played 'Fatso' Judson in FROM HERE TO ETERNITY.

#38: Michael Biehn played Cpl Dwayne Hicks in ALIENS.

Number 21 Buck Weaver was played by John Cusack in "Eight Men Out"

#2. Ray Milland in The Lost Weekend (Just saw it a little while ago)

You are correct. Thanks for jogging my static brain about this list. I have added a few new entries for everyone's fun.

Is Hunk Andrews from the Wizard of Oz?

Yup to say who?

I'll say Ray Bolger...

I was wrong?

Nope you were right. Credit will be given accordingly...

#44 Is that Gene Hackman in Unforgiven?

One more guess: #46 Joseph Cotten, Citizen Kane.

Correct on both Hackman and Cotton

#45: Claude Rains in Casablanca! Just happy to know one...

There you go Jim. Rains is correct

11. linda darnell - a letter to three wives
20. alfred abel - metropolis
34. richard dreyfuss - jaws
36. jeff daniels - the caine mutiny (also van johnson)
47. leslie howard - gone with the wind

33. Barry Newman - Vanishing Point (and Bowfinger)

39. Alan Baxter - Judgement At Nuremberg

9. teri polo - meet the parents

All your answers are correct but i was definitely thinking Van Johnson for the Caine Mutiny...

BTW, I believe Professor looks these up on the Internet.
