You couldn't call it unexpected - Here is the second great lyric challenge. Please be patient! I will add more as I get the chance.

Again, most (not all) of these are from famous artists, but not all are from singles. I've limited the list to pop / rock / soul / rap lyrics, but I think you'll find quite a variety. I'll add more soon.

Note: Only one quote will be used per artist.

I'm thrilled to take suggestions; just be careful and try to follow my 'one quote per artist' rule, and try to submit quotes by either famous or critically respected artists. A quote from an Ace of Base B-side or an As Divine Grace bootleg will probably remained unguessed forever (heck, I have Jimi Hendrix and Prince quotes still unguessed on my other list!). If you have any doubts, email me at lbangs@hotmail.com to clear it. If you clear a lyric through me, I promise not to guess at it. ;) Also, please note the length of the average quote; half a verse is not appropriate!

One last note: I have very limited internet access on the weekend, so please don't give up hope if you post a guess on Saturday. I'll answer by early Monday at the latest.

Totals:

SFragile - 4

lilzoe - 1

taryn - 1

jenhowel - 1

MarkW - 1

jgandcag - 1

tiburon77 - 1

#9 is from "Bob Dylan's 115th Dream," by, uh, Bob Dylan. Just as Columbus is discovering America, Bobby D. is getting the hell out of there. From the 1965 album Bringing It All Back Home.

Correct, urm, sir/ma'am!

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

#4 is from "House of the Rising Sun" and I think the Animals did the most famous version.

That's the exact version I'm looking for. Great job!

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

i believe #1 is "Frankly Mr. Shankly" by the Smiths...

Correct! Great album, eh?

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

11 - Liz Phair, Help Me Mary (possibly not the right title but it's on Exile in Guyville)

That's it, correct title and all!

I need to add some quotes quickly!

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

#7 is The Beatles from You Can't Do That

Great job! It is very difficult to grab a Beatles' quote that isn't instantly recognized by everybody. You did fantastic work with a mere snippet. I'm impressed!

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

#14 Could it be Sheena is a Punk Rocker from the Ramones?!

It could!

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs (who promises more quotes before too long...)

don't forget to update the running totals... (for SFragile's sake!)

Whoops! Thanks for catching that...

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

Oh, don't worry about me... I'm not in this for the money and fame :)

Well, you can give me the money, I'll dish the fame off to someone else. Perhaps a figurehead to be assassinated! [Stop me before I start making sense]

#3 is from Bennie and the Jets by Elton John/Bernie Taupin

Yes. Great job!

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

#13 Who could forget... I'm a Boy by the Who.

The title is in the quote! Great song, great job.

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

Definitely a harder set of remaining quotes than the first list. Only one I've got is #12.

Tokyo Storm Warning; Elvis Costello.

That's it!

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

Just thought you might enjoy the story of #4 (House of the Rising Sun).

6. Parliament Unfunky UFO. Great song.

Wow, I forgot this list was even still up!

You are correct, both with your song title and with your assessment of said song. The whole of Mothership Connection is quite amazing, really.

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

hmm this has been around a long time...

#2 roxy music....she sells

Good call! Correct!

Shalom, y'all!
