On first search. 17. Bruce Willis Pulp Fiction. 6. Cary Grant Bringing up Baby
#3 Albert Brooks in Broadcast News. One of the great flicks of that decade. I think it was the 80's
Correct on all three!
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
13. Bond, James Bond. I think the movie is Thunderball but not sure. I know some of the others but i will leave them for others.
Jim
You've got the right idea (and the right Bond), but the film is incorrect. You're so close, however, since this film is basically a remake of Thunderball.
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
#13 therefore must be from Never Say Never Again.
There we go!
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
15 is Raiders of the Lost Ark, 20 is Amateur, and 24 is Chicken Run.
Yes, Yes, and no, but extremely close...
Great job!
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
12 is Nobody's Fool.
Is this line in that film? It's not the film I'm thinking of. This film is much older (60s).
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
I thought Paul Newman said it to Pruitt Taylor Vince in regards to Bruce Willis as he's leaving with Melanie Griffith. Now that I think of it that might not be the exact quote. I'll have to watch it again. Of course, my favorite quote from that movie would have to be, "Ollie, you know my feelings about arming morons: you arm one, you've got to arm them all, otherwise it wouldn't be good sport."
Good film, wasn't it? Following on the heels of Pulp Fiction, everyone should now realize that Bruce Willis can indeed act, when he wants to.
Huge hint: the quote is from a Western.
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
I don't suppose 16 is Passion Fish?
:) No, but given the plot of that film, that's an excellent guess!
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
I can't believe I'm not going to get 19 right. I want to guess either The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly or The Magnificent Seven, but I don't have a good feeling about either of those guesses.
The quote from 19 goes back much farther in time. It's a masterpiece from the late 40s.
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
Ah, got it now but I had to cheat. In my reference the quote is: "Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges."
And the IMDB agrees with you. I'll fix the quote immediately. Thanks.
And your mentioning Nobody's Fool reminds me that I have an ultimate guide to Bruce Willis films I've been meaning to post. I'll work on that during my lunch hour here.
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
The IMDb was my reference as well. So we don't have independent confirmation.
Happy news about the Bruce Willis list - I trust Nobody's Fool will fare well.
I've already posted it, and yes, Nobody's Fool fared well.
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
I know I was going to let other answers some but I cant resist #12-Wild Bunch one of my favorites.
There we go!
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
#8 CITIZEN KANE, #16 BLAZING SADDLES.
Congrats! Correct on both!
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
#19 is from The Treasure of the Sierra Madre with Humphrey Bogart. Right?
That's it! Great job!
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
Is 13 from "Devil's Advocate" and 24 from "Chicken Run"?
Nevermind. I see from the previous posts that both guesses are wrong. :)
Start another list Bangs. -Bob
bangs #4 is Robert De Niro as Travis Bickle from the masterpiece TAXI DRIVER.
Bingo!
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
Is #24 from "Wrong Trousers"?
It is. Great job!
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
How about SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE for #18??
No, but an excellent guess.
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
guessin #7 is once upon a time in the west
Good guess. It is.
Congrats!
L. Bangs
Wow I'm amazed at the response time!! #21 is really buggin me, I know I've just seen the movie but I can't remember which one it was. I'll guess The Apartment.
No, not the Apartment. Keep tryin'!
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
#2 is the Producers.
Yes, it is. Great job, AAA!
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
# 22 i believe keys, keys could be Magnolia?
Nope. This quote is from something of a cult film of the 70s.
Shalom, y'all!

HALLOWEEN
The cigar is yours!
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
Ok Waited long enough to answer some of these #23 is Darren(maybe Darryl) the lout of a husband to Geena Davis in Thelma and Louise.
And I think 18. is "all About Eve" but I am not sure why.
Correct on both accounts. Impressive!
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
I REMEMBER WHEN IT CAME IN BOTTLES HUH? I'm gonna guess and say Mission To Mars. How come nobody tries my movie quote challenge lists anyway? i'm sad.
Nope, you're off about 35 years or so.
:)
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
#5 North by Northwest, one of my favorites too :)
Wow, sorry. I've no idea how I've missed this for over a year. Absolutely right! Cary Grant tells the police about how the mean men poured liquor down his throat and throws back cabinet doors where he claims the alcohol is. The cabinet now only contains books. At which point, looking at the books, Cary's onscreen mom delivers the great line.
Sorry so long, but you are most certainly correct. Good job!
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
14 - Is "Cabaret" - is it not?
and 21 is killing me!
14 is Cabaret indeed. Seeing how popular the film is here on Listology, I'm a bit surprised it stood as long as it did. Great catch!
21... Quite a few people will kick themselves when somebody gets this one! Great film with something major in common with number 14 !
Great job! I guess I'll have to add some more here soon...
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
A funny thing about #21. I watched Singing in The Rain a while ago and when Gene Kelly said the line to the truly inspired Jean Hagen I remembered it was a quote on one of these lists. I just could not remember which list.
There we go! Great job!
Somehow, I thought you would be the one to eventually nab this one!
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
I confess - I have no idea how number 1 has stayed up here so long.
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
A wild stab in the dark: Say Anything?
Good guess, but alas...
This film is pretty beloved here.
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
Is #9 from "The Sting"?
No, but great try.
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
Is #11 from "My Fair Lady", perchance?
"Nope, sorry," he answers many moons later...
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
On my rewatch of "The Maltese Falcon", I heard #9 spoken and thought it sounded awfully familiar. It took me a little while before I connected it with this list though.
I was afraid that quote was up there to stay. Great memory!
I wonder if I should expand this quiz, make a new one, or just let this one play itself out. At least one of those quotes above will drop one day, I am sure of it.
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
I'd vote for expanding it, personally. I'd like to try my hand at the new quotes you come up with, as I'm totally stumped as to the other 3. Also, if there's more activity due to the new quotes, people will be more likely to catch the remaining three quotes and recognize them.
#1 - Hannah and Her Sisters
Yes!
That was the one I was pretty sure couldn't sit up there too much longer.
Good job!
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
#11 is from The Philadelphia Story
There we go. Good job!
Shalom, y'all!
