Just a few off the top of my head. Enjoy!

hey, have you (or anyone else) experienced a flaming lips "zaireeka" listening? (flaming lips released a now out of print 4-cd album intended to be cued simultaneously on 4 different cd players.)
p.s. RIGHT ON with a big high five on the bonnie "prince" billy album. have you heard neutral milk hotel? it might knock your socks off. it might not.
Sadly, I have never been lucky enough to hear Zaireeka in anything approaching its full glory. A friend of mine had a rare inport that mixed the four cds down to one, and I really enjoyed it while fully aware that I was missing a large chunk of its brilliance. I really love The Flaming Lips, and I'm not just saying that because I live in Oklahoma.
The Bonnie Prince Billy album gets greater with every listen; Nomadic Revery is one of my favorite songs this decade. I have only heard a smattering of Neutral Milk Hotel, but since everybody who knows my taste recommends them, I suppose it is about time I broke down and picked up On Avery Island.
Shalom, y'all!

or "in the aeroplane over the sea". you might also do some good by checking out slint- some sort of common denominator of bonnie "prince" billy and some other louisville and chicago rockers.
clarification:
slint is a band.
"in the aeroplane over the sea" is an album by neutral milk hotel.
I've heard a few songs off of Aeroplane and wasn't too thrilled with them. I think I will give their first one a shot, though.
I have heard some of Slint's work, and I do like it. Their EP is especially good.

the totality of the neutral milk albums is what makes them. in the same kind of way that the totality of "the soft bulletin" by the flaming lips makes it. its too early in the morning (yes i'm aware it's 1pm) for me to be trying to explain how i feel about these things, but let me just say that the first time i heard neutral milk, i wanted to drive a stake through my head i hated them so much, and upon accidental further listenings, they have become my favorite band. ah, i defend. sorry. don't worry. i know these lists are subjective.
I can completely understand this. My initial response to Exile on Main Street was similar, and it is now one of my favorite albums. Perhaps I'll give Aeroplane another chance, this time listening to the entire album.
Shalom, y'all!

Yeah I did that with a couple friends at a party one time, it was pretty crazy to say the least. The music isn't totally in synch but its certainly worth trying.
I was referring to snoozer's first post
L, have you heard the cover Johnny Cash does of I See a Darkness on his new American III CD? Will Oldham sings with him on it, and I must say, Cash's voice really does the lyrics justice. A rare cover that reinforces the brillance of both song and singer. I'll have to check out Bonnie "Prince" Billy's album.
Johnny Waco
Yes, his remake was probably my favorite song off of that album. He nailed the atmosphere dead-on, and Oldham did perfectly fine next to the master. A great version of a great song - I'll have to add this one.
Thanks for the reminder, and yes, you really should check out the album. I suspect you will love it. I do.
Shalom, y'all!

BONNIE PRINCE BILLY-I SEE A DARKNESS INCREDIBLE ALBUM. one of my favorites of all time, you should check out the band THE ARCADE FIRE.
