This list tracks how many films players have watched in 2011. Shorts (less than 40 minutes), made-for-TV movies, and TV series do not count toward one's 'score'. I'm allowing direct-to-video/dvd ("video/dvd premieres"), theatrical features shown on TV, and repeat viewings.
And of course: your list needs to be numbered!

Many thanks to dayfornight - he now is called scottwblack - who maintained the original list. Thanks to Lukeprog who did a great job maintaining the list for 2005!
And all hail Rosie for holding the list in 2006 and 2007!

And thanks also to those who continue to play.

Sure!

Can I join once again, always fun to keep track of what's being viewed by everyone who joins. Thanks!

Of course, welcome back!

But can you post a link to your list, please? Thanks!

Never mind, I found it.

Ready for a another year, list is

http://www.listology.com/ultimo-lee/list/films-watched-2011

Sorry no idea how to create links on here

Thanks for playing again.

I believe I've done this every year, so I'm in again this year: http://listology.com/hinterland/list/films-seen-2011

Indeed, we wouldn't feel complete without you. Thanks!

Cool, thanks!

Yeah, why not ;-)
Thanks!

Can i join again?

Yes, you can. I hope this year you'll be able to keep updating your list until the end of the year.
Btw, any chance still of updating your 2010 list?

Oh yes, my apologies for not updating the 2010 list I was volunteer working overseas and unfortunately there was no internet connection there so i was unable to update it. I will have it done by the end of this week

You didn't have to apologize, it's just a game ;-)
Hope I didn't sound like a grumpy old man, which I'm not - well not old anyway ;-)

Oh you didn't :) It just reminded me to update the list, which i have now finished

Welcome, it's always fine to have a new player!

Thanks for playing again!

Hi. I'd like to be in again, this time from the start. http://listology.com/nukualofa/list/movies-seen-2011

Thanks, you'll surely end higher this year.

Add me again! This was fun. Though I doubt I will finish anywhere near the top in 2011, I was pleased with my success in 2010.

Really? Not even aiming at the top 10? Anyway, thanks for playing again.

Great, another strong player playing again. Thanks.

Done.
Thanks.

Yes, sir! Thanks for playing again.

Sure, it's always great to have a new player.

Thanks for playing again.

Haven't got anything so far due to no internet at home but count me in:

http://listology.com/tenthavenuefreezeout/list/film-log-2011

Done. And thanks!

I think last year you beat me with one film for the 14th spot. I won't let this happen again ;-)
Seriously, it's great to have you again.

Okay, last year I placed 11th. Lets see if I can't break into the top ten this time!

http://www.listology.com/maniac-mansion/list/seen-2011

Thanks for playing again, and success! But know I'll be trying to get into the top 10 too ;-)

So one of the two of you needs to take my place in the top 10 since its unlikely I'll be there!

You gotta keep thinking positive ;-)

I'm positive I won't be in the top 10. But I will be happy with my success if I'm in the top 25.

Okay, last year I placed 11th. Lets see if I can't break into the top ten this time!

http://www.listology.com/maniac-mansion/list/seen-2011

Add me Pleaaase!

http://listology.com/jaimeblack/list/0002-movies-ive-seen-2011

7th Place was decent enough.

Yeeaahh!
A very good result, indeed!

Sign me up again please!

Done! Thanks for playing again.

Thanks for the invite...I'll rejoin this year...sign me up!

Wow, it's great to have you back. Thanks!
The other players better be warned, staup2005 is the former winner of this game: in 2006 (1413 films!!!), 2007 (652 films) and 2008 (620 films). Let's hope rudolf55, the 2009 and 2010 winner, will play again, so we'll have a clash of the titans ;-)

Wow! 2006 is an average a little (very little) under 4 films per day. Makes my hind side hurt just thinking about it.

Hey, I'd love to play this year. I think I may just have what it takes to win the cup.

Always good to have a new player. Although, I remember you wanted to play last year, too, but your list disappeared before I could add it. Anyway, thanks for joining. I like it when a player is so ambitious, although I think - contradict me if I'm wrong - you're a slow starter ;-)

Yes I did delete my list last year, so I appreciate you giving me a second chance, so to speak. I may be a slow starter, but I'm like the Turtle. I have consistency. These other rabbits will be zipping along haphazardly, but I'll eventually stroll past on pure persistence. Thanks for adding me to the scoreboard.

Well, I'd say: go for it, turtle ;-)

Thanks for playing again.

thanks!

Please include me in the the scoreboard http://www.listology.com/robear61/list/movies-seen-2011.

With pleasure!

Update #01 (10 January) - 22 players at this first update. Only two of them are new players, but they look very strong, because they took the first two places: Suruaika (1st, 20 films) and McJoJo (2nd, 17). The winner of 2009 and 2010, rudolf55, isn't playing (yet?). Two more players from the to 10 of last year, ghimm and WB, aren't playing (yet?), the other seven are. We have eight players with an average of more than one film a day, and one of them (Suruaika) even has an average of more than two. I'm proud to say that, with 11 films, I'm 6th.

I've been meaning to join, but I kept forgetting. I doubt I'll be defending my title very much, though

http://www.listology.com/rudolf55/list/films-seen-2011

You still look like a strong player to me. Anyway, thanks for playing again.

I'd like to join again! 2011

Welcome again. And thanks!

I'm brand new to the site, but I'd love to join the game!
http://listology.com/puzzgal/list/movies-seen-2011

Thanks for joining. You look like a strong player.

I sure will! Thanks for playing.

I will add you as soon as you've numbered your list. Anyway, thanks for playing.

Update #02 (17 January) - 7 new players at this update. We have the two winners of the five previous editions on board: staup2005 (2006/2007/2008) and rudolf55 (2009/2010). rudolf55, who is 11th, has already said that there's only a small chance he'll be making a hattrick, but staup2005 debuted where he has been for three consecutive years at every update: the number one spot, although he shares it with rwebb. Another new player, robear61, is 4th. The number one of last week, Suruaika, is 5th now. Ten players have an average of more than one film a day, two of them, rwebb and staup2005, even of more than two a day. I saw 9 films, but due to a few strong new players, I went down from 6 to 7. But still an average of more than one film a day.

I swear I just continue to participate to make others feel better about their totals. So, here goes again: http://www.listology.com/p-pogo/list/films-seen-2011

That's the spirit ;-)

My kind of guy. And the kind I'll be this year. Just happy to be a part of this. Even if I'm not near the top, its fun seeing who is around me and how the others move in the list.

Update #03 (24 January) - 5 new players at this update. Two of them - Puzzgal (3rd) & KitanoX42 (8th) - entered the top ten. robear61 went from 4 to 2, rwebb from 1 to 3. staup2005, who shared the first spot at the previous update, stayed first. Other notable changes: rudolf55 from 11 to 7, Ultimo Lee from 16 tot 8, Suruaika from 5 to 12, tom_elce from 6 to 11. I saw only 3 films and went from 7 to 14. 4 players have an average of more than 2 films/day (staup2005, robear61, rwebb and Puzzgal), 9 more players have an average of more than 1 film a day. Sadly, I'm not one of them anymore.

count me in ! cheers

Sure. Good to have a regular like you playing again.

Update #04 (31 January) - 4 more new players, we have 38 players now. The highest new entry is alabama 14 on 25.The top 3 (staup2005, robear61, PUzzgal) didn't change. They are the three players who have seen more than 2 films/day. Nine more players have seen at least 1 film/day. I'm happy to say I'm one of them. I saw 16 films and went from 14 to 7, that's the biggest change of the week.

I will. Thanks!

Update #05 (07 February) - Still one new player at this update. We're 39 now. For the first time this year the first four players remained the same as the previous week. Remarkable changes: dashforcover from 17 to 12, Elston from 28 to 15, rudolf55 from 7 to 11, Maniac Mansion from 13 to 17 and Suruaika from 18 to 14. staup2005 stayed first with 117 films. He's the only player with more than three films/day. Two others (robear61 and Puzzgal) have seen more than two films/day. Eight more have seen more than one film/day. I'm one of them. As a matter of fact, thanks to my 19 films I went from 7 to 5, but I predict that from now on it'll be downhill for me. Don't even know if I can stay in the top 10, my first goal is to stay above the one film/day separation.

Update #06 (14 February) - Another new player at this update. For the first time in the Scoreboard's history there are 40 players. The top 5 didn't change this week. The most remarkable change: Elston, from 15 to 6. rudolf55 is the second new player in the top 10. bpchicky and tom_elce fell out of it. staup2005 has seen a 140 films, and he's still the only player with more than three films/day. Only one other player (robear61) has seen more than two films/day. Eleven more have seen more than one film/day. I'm still one of them. I saw only four films and I went down from 5 to 7.

Hey, I have a quick question:
Do documentaries, like "The beat generation: an American dream" (1987) and "Imagine: John Lennon" (1988), count?

Update #07 (28 February) - First update in two weeks. Elston is fourth now. What a progress in four weeks! 28th, 15th, 6th and now 4th. Apart from that, I'm responsible for the biggest change in the top 10, falling from 7 to 10. Only 12 players (instead of 13) have seen more than 1 film/day, I'm still one of them. Two of them have seen more than 2 films/day, but there is no one left, not even staup2005, with more than 3 films/day.

Update #08 (07 March) - Almost no changes in the top 10 this week. Still 12 players with more than 1 film/day (I'm one of them), but staup2005 is now the only one with more than 2 films/day. I saw only four films but stayed 10th.

Update #09 (14 March) - Elston is second now, six weeks ago (s)he was only 28th. It's an impressive progress, and I'm wondering if it will stop here. True, staup 2005 still has a lead of 65 films. But five weeks ago, Elston was 82 films behind and since then the lead has been crumbling down week after week: 75, 72, 71 and now 65. Elston is catching up by 3.4 films a week, which means that at this rate it will cost 19 more weeks to close the gap, which is on 25 July. Of course, this is only mathematics!
Other remarkable change: Cosgrove from 15 to 10. I'm sharing that spot, because - it's incredible - although I saw only two films, I managed to stay 10th. More so, I'm still one of the players - albeit only just - that have seen at least 1 film/day. There are only 11 of them left (out: tom_elce and rudolf55 - in: Cosgrove), and staup2005 still has seen more than 2 films/day.

Hi Kaplan,

Is it still possible for me to join!

http://listology.com/bigd/list/bigds-2011-movie-log

Thank you...

Sure.

Thank you again. :-)

Update #10 (21 March) - Elston lost one spot, that's the surprise of the week! Ultimo Lee jumped from 8 to 5. staup is still the only player who has seen more than 2 films/day, ten others have seen more than 1 film/day. I'm one of them. I saw 14 films and went from 10 to 9.

Hey,
I'm gonna have to drop out of the contest, because I should really start to focus on school instead of watching movies. So, it was fun to do, but I'm gonna delete my list, because it makes me want to watch more movies.

Thanks for everything and good luck to everyone!!!

Update #11 (04 April) - First update in two weeks. We have one new player, BigD, we're 41 now. Puzzgal went from 4 to 2, McJoJo from 8 to 5. staup2005 is still the only player who has seen more than 2 films/day, ten others have seen more than 1 film/day. I'm one of them, but only just. I saw only seven films the past two weeks and I went from 9 to 11.

Thanks for warning us and not just disappearing. Maybe til next year and good luck with your studies.

Update #12 (11 April) - We lost one player, McJoJo, the number five of last week! A few posts above this one (s)he explains why. Most remarkable change this week: Laivaren from 18 to 13. staup2005 is still first, he's the only player with more than 2 films/day. We have seven other players with more than 1 film/day, that's three less than last week. McJoJo's was one of them, but two other players went under the magical line: Cosgrove, who is just one film short, and myself. I'm two films short. I saw five films, but still climbed, due to the disappearance of McJoJo, from 11 to 10.

Update #13 (18 April) - Most impressive change of the week: rudolf55 from 14 to 11. staup2005 is still leading, although he added only five films! He's the only player with an average of more than 2 films/day. Seven other players have an average of more than 1 film/day. No changes there. I saw seven films and am still two films short - I am on an average of 0.98 films/day - of that magical line. But I climbed from 10 to 9.

Update #14 (25 April) - Most important change of the week: the disappearance of Elston's list. Elston was a strong contender, being fourth at the previous update, with 134 films. So, we have only seven players left with an average of more than 1 film/day. One of them, staup2005, has seen more than 2 films/day. I saw six films and went from nine to ten.

Update #15 (02 May) - A lot of small changes this week, but no big ones. We still have seven players with an average of more than 1 film/day, but they're not the same seven as last week. Cosgrove replaced julesyoung, who is still close to that average, as is jaimeblack. staup2005 is the only player with more than 2 films/day. I saw five films and stayed tenth.

Update #16 (09 May) - Besides some players updating after a few weeks of silence, and thus adding loads of films, it has again been a week of only small changes. Still seven players with an average of more than one film/day. But the names have changed again: jaimeblack is in, Cosgrove out again. staup2005 is still the only player with more than 2 films/day. I saw five films and stayed tenth.

Update #17 (16 May) - No remarkable position changes this week, but it's interesting to see there's only a difference of six films between the number six (jaimeblack, 135 films) and the number ten (myself, 129 films). We have only five players left with an average of more than one film/week, that's two less than last week: jaimeblack fell one film short of that demarcation line, bpchikcy three films. Of course, staup2005 is still the only player with more than 2 films/day. I saw seven films and stayed tenth.

Update #18 (23 May) - The top five didn't change. The difference between the numbers six (jaimeblack & Cosgrove, 140 films) and the number ten (julesyoung, 135 films) is only five films. Sad news: alabama 14's list has disappeared, it counted 23 films at the previous update. Five players have an average of more than 1 film/day. staup2005 is still going strong with an average of more than 2 films/day (2.28 films/day, if you really want to know). I saw seven films (total: 136) and went from ten to eight (tied with bpchicky).

Update #19 (06 June) - First update in two weeks. The top 5 didn't change, but there's a fierce battle for the sixth spot with Cosgrove and bpchicky on six (with 153) and jaimeblack and julesyoung on eight (with 151). I saw only nine films and went from eight to ten, with 145 films. The players from the top five still have an average of more than 1 film/day. Number one staup2005 has an average of more than 2 films/day.

Update # 20 (13 June) - The top six hasn't changed. But the number six (Cosgrove, 167) has joined the group of players with an average of more than 1 film/day. They're six now and one of them, staup2005, has an average of more than 2 films/day. I saw five films and stayed tenth.

Update # 21 (20 June) - No change in the top 6, but rudolf55 has updated his list for the first time in months, and jumps from 18 to 7. As a result of that I went from 10 to 11. Of course, this was also due to the fact that I only saw 2 films this week. Six players still with an average of more than 1 film/day, and one (staup2005) with more than 2 films/day.

Update # 22 (27 June) - No change in the top 7, and still six players with an average of more than 1 film/day. Although we almost had a seventh player crossing that line, since rudolf55 is one film short of that average. It almost goes without saying that staup2005 is still the only player with more than 2 films/day. I saw six films and stayed 11th.

Update # 23 (11 July) - First update in two weeks. Almost no changes in the top 12. Most remarkable change: KitanoX42 added 32 films and jumped from 17 to 13. Six players have seen more than 1 film/day, staup2005 is the only one still with more than 2 films/day. But his margin has been getting smaller, the past months. With 402 films, his margin now is only 18 films.
I saw a mere 9 films, but stayed 11th.

Update # 24 (25 July) - First update in two weeks. Barely no changes in the top 14. Six players with an average of more than 1 film/day, staup2005 is the only one still with more than 2 films/day. I saw only 3 films. Still, I stayed 11th.

Update # 25 (1 August) - Again, a rather quiet week on the Scoreboard with almost no changes in the top 14. Although with only four films under my belt this week, I managed to go from 11 tot 10. For weeks now, six players have an average of more than 1 film/day, with staup2005 as the only one with more than 2 films/day.

Update # 26 (15 August) - First update in two weeks. Sensation on the Scoreboard. staup2005 added only 3 films at this update, and went below the 2 films/day average. He's only one film short of that average - he should have had 454 films on his list to cross the line, he has 453 -, so he might recover next week. That's the most remarkable change of this week. But we still have six players with more than 1 film/day: staup2005, of course, Puzzgal, robear61, rwebb, Ultimo Lee and Cosgrove. I saw nine films and went from 10 to 9. Laivaren enters the top 10 (on 10, coming from 12).

Update # 27 (22 August) - With only one film this week, staup2005 is now 14 films short of the 2 films/day average. And his lead on Puzzgal is dwindling, from 109 four weeks ago to 87 now. Granted, 87 still is a quite a margin! If Puzzgal keeps diminishing the lead at the same rate - between five to six films a week - the gap with staup2005 will be closed in 16 weeks, which would be half December. Of course, this is pure speculation, maybe staup2005 will have extended his lead next week to 100 films!
Some pure facts now: rwebb went from fourth to third position, the only change in the top 11. Still six players with an average of more than 1 film/day. I saw seven films and stayed 9th.

Update # 28 (29 August) - Almost no changes in the top 12, only Cosgrove went from six to five (tied). A lot of players haven't updated their list, probably due to the downtime of the site.
Still six players with an average of more than 1 film/day. I saw five films and stayed 9th.

Update # 29 (05 September) - Only one small change in the top 10. Still six players with an average of more than 1 film/day. I saw four films and stayed 9th.

Update # 30 (12 September) - rudolf55 updated his list for the first time in months, and jumped from 14 to 9. That's the most remarkable change this week. Due to this and to the fact that I only saw 3 films, I went down one spot, from 9 to 10. Still six players with an average of more than 1 film/day. But we have two players (jaimeblack and julesyoung) flirting with that barrier. They're both only four films short of it. Maybe next week?

Update # 31 (19 September) - Not much time for comments, let me just point out that the top 7 didn't change, with staup2005 still first. dashforcover added 23 films, and went from 15 tot 12. I saw 4 films, but thanks to rudolf55 not adding any films, I went from 10 to 9.

Update # 32 (26 September) - Most remarkable change: Cosgrove went from 6 to 4, the first important change at the top op the Scoreboard in weeks. The top 6 still has an average of more than 1 film/day. bpchicky entered the top (from 11 to 9), rudolf55 (from 10 to 11) fell out of it. I saw only one film and went from 9 to 10.

Update # 33 (03 October) - Most remarkable change: Ultimo Lee from 6 to 4. The first six players (staup2005, Puzzgal, rwebb, Ultimo Lee, Cosgrove and robear) have an average of more than 1 film/day. jaimeblack is only two films short of that average. I saw five films and won one spot. I'm ninth now, tied with bpchicky.

Update # 34 (10 October) - For the first time in five months we have seven players with an average of more than 1 film/day. jamieblack joined the six players mentioned in my previous comment. That's the most remarkable change of the week. I saw only three films, yet I stayed ninth.
Puzzgal, the number two of the Scoreboard, keeps on closing in on the frontrunner, staup2005. Let's compare with the week of 25 July, that's 11 weeks or 77 days ago, when staup2005 was 109 films in front. In that period staup2005 added 35 films, Puzzgal 83, so the gap is now only 61 films. So, each week Puzzgal is winning 4.3 films on staup2005. At this rate, Puzzgal still needs 14 weeks to close the gap. But we have only 12 weeks left to play. Of course, this is purely hypothetical. Anything can still happen!

Update # 35 (17 October) - The only change in the top 10: jaimeblack from 7 to 6 and, consequently, robear from 6 to 7. Still seven players with an average of more than 1 film/week. I saw eight films and stayed ninth.

Update # 36 (34 October) - No change in the top 9, TenthAvenueFreezeOut entered the top 10, bpchicky fell out of it. Seven players have an average of more than 1 film/week. I saw fours films and stayed ninth.

Update # 37 (31 October) - A quiet week on the Scoreboard. No change in the top 10, still seven players with an average of more than 1 film/week. I saw five films and stayed ninth.

Update # 38 (14 November) - First update in two weeks. No change in the top 9. Maniac Mansion entered the top 10, TenthAvenueFreezeOut went from 10 to 11. Seven players with an average of more than 1 film/week. I saw ten films and stayed ninth.

Update # 39 (28 November) - First update in two weeks. robear61 went from 7 to 6, jaimeblack from 6 to 7, that's the only change in the top 10. Most remarkable fact of the week: julesyoung joined the group of players that have an average of more than 1 film/week. They are eight now. I saw only two films but still stayed ninth.

HELP! HELP! HELP! I can't update some of my lists. This is the error I get: warning: Cannot use a scalar value as an array in /usr/local/apache2/htdocs/listology.com/sites/all/modules/cck/modules/text/text.module on line 175.

As long as the problem isn't solved, I can't update the Scoreboard.

I got the same thing at the top of my lists but they all updated. Strange

Since I can't update this list for the moment, I decided to post this update here.

Final update
Congratulations to staup2005 who won with 672 films. He was the winner in 2006, 2007 and 2008, but didn't play the past two years. 672 films is his best result since 2006, when he watched an otherworldly amount of 1413 films. 672 is the third best result in the history of the Scoreboard: pianoshootis saw 679 films during the first edition in 2005 (btw, staup2005 ended ninth that year, with 378 films).
rudolf55, the 2009 and 2010 winner, was no match for staup2005, as rudolf55 had predicted at the beginning of the year. rudolf55 ended ninth.
Puzzgal, a new player, came second this year. In the autumm, it looked for a while that Puzzgal could catch up with staup2005, but it didn't happen.
Some changes compared to last year:
rwebb: 5 -> 3
Ultimo Lee: 2 -> 4
Cosgrove: 6 -> 5
julesyoung: 10 -> 6
jaimeblack: 7 -> 7
robear65, who ended eighth, was a new player.
The top 8 has an average of more than one film/day. Last year we had only four players with that average.
I ended twelfth, beter than my fifteenth position of 2010, though I saw only five films more than last year. I'm disappointed because I had at least wanted to see 300 films (and had even hoped for 365).
We ended with 38 players, but four of them (ghimm, greenmind, N3XUS-GAM1NG, BigD) haven't updated their list since the spring, so we can assume they stopped playing. But since they didn't say so explicitely, they're still in the list.
Big thanks to everyone who played in 2011, and ever bigger thanks to everyone who updated his/her list regularly throughout the year.
