2011 Goals
- Read 200 books in 2011 (Pace: COMPLETED!)
- Continue reading winners of the Pulitzer Prize Award for Fiction (progress is consistent)
- Continue reading the full Richard F. Burton translation of One Thousand Nights and a Night (progress is slow)
- Continue listening to the audiobook recording of the Aubrey/Maturin Series (progress is excellent)
- Complete Lillian Jackson Braun's "The Cat Who" series (progress is good)
- Begin reading more children's books. They are a delight to the mind and to the heart.
2010 Successes
- 55 book read in 2010
- More than halfway through the Pulitzer Prize list of 84 (soon to be 85) books -- http://pulitzerproject.blogspot.com/
- Two volumes of the Burton translation completed this year for a total of 4 out of 16
- More than halfway through the Aubrey/Maturin series of 21 books. Sadly, there will be no more of these.
- Having read most of "The Cat Who" series last year, only 10 titles are left, unless Ms Braun publishes another.
Wisdom
I must remember that not all reading pleasure comes from reading from the innumerable lists of "best" books.
I am moving the full extent of my books (read, reading and planning to read) from Shelfari (who has sold out to Amazon) to http://www.goodreads.com/review/list/4985011?shelf=currently-reading

With a new goal of reading more children's books, it is appropriate that the first book I finish in 2011 is a children's book -- Mary Poppins -- which I had never read.
I like your goals/successes/wisdom comments. I'd like to borrow the idea for my reading log, do you mind?
Mimicry is the highest form of compliment... :D
Do feel free, misscurly! I wondered if anyone had actually read them. I'm pleased to know someone took the time to read my musings. And not only enjoyed them, but found the idea useful, too.
