Two epic wins in a row.

I actually liked Nighttiming even better than Either/Or.

Good call on AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted and One For All. 2 of the best hip hop albums ever!

I've also started listening to Cypress Hill's self-titled, and that's pretty great too.

I would have to agree. Muggs is one of the most underrated producers ever and his work on that album is crazy. Their second and third albums are great as well. Beyond that I haven't heard any other Cypress Hill albums all the way through.

I can also recommend a great album released last year from DJ Muggs & Planet Asia entitled Pain Language. Planet Asia has always been an impressive emcee and the beats bang. One of my favorite albums from last year for sure!

Awesome, I'll try to check it out.

ouch, B- for maroon, i would still recommend you check out the other BNL albums

Yeah, Wezzo was the one who recommended Maroon to me. I can't even really say what my problem with it was, because I already am hard-pressed to remember much of it.

well i could maybe say that quite a few of the songs sound the same, especially the upbeat ones, so maybe that would account for it being "un-memorable" in your mind. did you find any tracks you remember liking more than others? or a least fave?

An A- for something by Snoop Dogg. This is both funny and intriguing.

Well, it's considered a rap classic.

Glad to see you enjoyed both Doggystyle and Brown Sugar upon listening to each for the first time!

Now that you've heard both of D'Angelo's albums, which would you say you like more?

At first, I liked Brown Sugar better, because it was more instantly likeable and accessible. But after thinking about it, I think I prefer Voodoo for how dense and funky it is.

Which do you prefer?

I actually pretty much feel the exact same way about those albums. Brown Sugar is just so easy to love right away, whereas Voodoo took a couple listens to really appreciate. And I think "dense and funky" is an excellent way to describe that album. :-P

Great you've been playing the first 6 Beatles in a row, maybe Revolver to Let It Be will follow. Glad to see they all got A+ but what else could they get! It would be hard to pick a fav of all Beatles albums, it could change from day to day, don't you agree.

It's been a couple years since I've went through their entire discography, so I figured that was long overdue.

My favorite Beatles album, and favorite of all time, is definitely Revolver. But each one is so fantastic...

where would you rate Past Masters Vol. 2 among the latter half their career - Revolver on?

Hmmmm. Below everything but Let It Be. It contains some of their best songs, but it doesn't really have the conceptual force of Revolver, Sgt. Pepper, Magical Mystery Tour, The White Album, or Abbey Road. "Day Tripper" and "We Can Work It Out," for example, despite being great songs, don't really sound of a piece with the rest of the album. They would've felt more at home on Vol. 1.

As far as compilations go, it's probably the strongest I've ever heard.
