I've officially been at this long enough that I'm starting to fear duplicate posts. But I think this is a new one: The Movie Cliches List. The best/most accurate section is, of course, the villians section.
Jim, what this list doesn't have and is crying out for is EXAMPLES. If something is truly a cliche, there should be plenty of examples to choose from, so much so that there should be a PRIME EXAMPLE for every cliche. In fact, I think I'll do such a list, giving my favourite cliches along with what I think is a prime example of each.
Cool beans. While you're at it, you could do a list of favorite acknowledgements of the cliches. Like the Scream movies, or this quote from Goldeneye:
"What, no small talk? No chit-chat? You know, that's the problem these days. No one bothers to take the time to give a really sinister interrogation."
BTW, Jim, what did you think of my "lists of classic science fiction" link? It hasn't been posted before, has it? - tell me it ain't so, Jim.
And isn't that "Internet Top 100" list the one you were looking for?

Sigh of relief. Glad you liked it. I found the guy's essay and lists educational, if a bit depressing at the conclusion - starting to feel like an old-timer, soneee.
Jim, Jim, Jim, would that I could. I'm going to have a hard enough time just rounding up my prime examples. Let's not get too ambitious.
