By now a bunch of you have seen and loved Hero, so you're probably looking forward to House of Flying Daggers as much as I am. This review ratcheted up my anticipation three notches, especially in the description of the dance scene in the brothel. « via The Movie Blog »

I wonder: if someone has seen Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The Iron Monkey, Hero, and now House of Flying Daggers, will they get tired of seeing the same kind of movie again and again, like others tire of seeing a serial killer flick or something? I can't answer because I've only seen the first two (and didn't like them anyway).

Did you really feel CTHD and Iron Monkey were the "same movie"? If yes, then I suppose folks that feel that way would indeed get bored. I see them as very different movies though, so it's hard for me to answer. To lump together all movies that feature kung fu seems about as logical to me as lumping together all movies that feature car chases. Know what I mean?

No, different movies, but similar in the way The Silence of the Lambs and Seven are similar. The difference is, I happened to like Silence and Seven, but not Crouching Tiger or Iron Monkey. I still look forward to Hero, though (but I'll probably wait for the DVD).
