I considered those films that I feel have the best chance of receiving a rating upgrade of 0.5 or more, or 0.3 or more if that would include moving up into the all-time masterpiece range (8.8/10+).

Modern Times was a 9.2/10 once? I'm surprised, though I rate it a 8/10 in your scale. Chaplin's best I think. :)

Yea, about 2-3 years ago, it was a 9.2 and hung around the 8.8-9.2 range for a few months over the course of 2 or 3 viewings.
