I've spun the Yeah Yeah Yeahs a few times now, and while it ain't bad, it comes nowhere near living up to the promise of last year's EP, IMHO.

Have you heard that disc?

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs (quite the Elephant fan...)

Have you heard Everything to Everyone yet? I don't know if it'd make your list, but I like it a lot.

No, I haven't, but I want to check it out. Thanks for recommending it.

Good List. Here is mine
Outkast - Speakerboxx / the love below
The White Stripes - Elephant
Johnny Cash - The Man Comes Around
Lucinda Williams - World Without Tears
Otis Taylor - The Truth is Not Fiction
Kings of Leon - Youth and Young Manhood
Ben Harper - Diamonds on the Inside
Be Good Tanyas - Chinatown
Jesse Malin - Fine Art of Self Destruction
My Morning Jacket - It Still Moves

Thanks, AAA. I am very thrilled to know I am not the only person here that digs Cat Power's album.

The Damien Rice is on my to-buy list based solely on your recommendation and a song I listened to at Borders (again, due to your recommendation). Thanks for the heads-up!

Great list. even if what little Rapture I've heard has yet to kick-start my engine (I probably need to listen to more, eh?)!

Shalom, y'all!

Thanks lbangs!

Cat Power's album is being horribly overlooked by both critics and the public. I think it's quite wonderful.

Damien Rice is the epitome of beautiful, sad, British folk. I'm a sucker for cellos, so I love the album.

The Rapture grew on me after a while, they're an interesting band to say the least.

I'd recommend to anyone who's a Flaming Lips fan to check out one of my albums of the year for 2003. Califone's "Quicksand/Rattlesnakes". The Stones to the Lip's Beatles. Talk about an overlooked classic...

I definitely agree with you that the Johnny Cash album is one of the best of 2003. I haven't heard of the rest of the artists in your list, though!

Johnny's disk is beautiful...comes close to making me cry.

All of these artists are either great or worth checking out...but that's my opinion.
